Correct, shooting arrows from a boat will not fire them out of the boat and consume them; wasting the arrow.

Seems like Marksmanship<5 (or even more) is a waste of time and arrows unless you're a lucky bastard - missed around 16 times in a row. It's also quite dangerous as animals run fast (cpt Obvious, sir!).

Fox has less than 125 HP as it was oneshotet with this damage.

Agreed. Doesn't matter how full the bar is, you'll miss. Unless there's some extra trick to archery anyway.

Are you able to aggro an animal in a boat, then go to the opposite shore and shoot them? Or can they completely Jesus walk across deep water rivers?

This is possible, yes. Animals cannot run past deep water (Maybe bears?). Just keep in mind they WILL run if enough damage is dealt.

Update for auroch: 3x 128 hits.

Yields:
* 2 fresh auroch hides (not counted as something new, no lp gain)
* 1 hair (if not pulled before)
* 3 intestines (note that intestines are not a bait anymore)
* 3 entrails
* 14 pieces of auroch's meat
* 6 bones (no horns or other special bone material (1 auroch checked))

Just click on the animal or on the ground above it. Not sure but you also can click on the portrait if in fight already.

you can still shoot from a boat i took down plenty of animals this way however theres no twitch motion anymore so they will run when they get low hp regradless (unless one shot)

so u'll have to get off the boat anyways to chase them down. but foxes are highly effective.

also chasing bunnies down on boat is always fun to watch
