The playerbase can be very very cruel. This world is not friendly nor forgiving unless you look in the right areas.

You should consider living a nomadic lifestyle (use a leanto for beginner storage) until you acquire Yeomanry and can make a claim+palisade. Trying to settle in on unclaimed land is a lost cause

Don't worry, happened to me as well. But to be honest making a house doesn't take that much time really. Just chop some trees, make boards and blocks, stockpile them near the construction and you're done. Only thing left is to find 20 boughs and you're done. Anyway, I just travelled so far that no one is near me, so I can even put items in containers and they are not stolen when I log in next day.

With the bark and stones not repawning, a wanderer life may be mandatory.

Both respawn, they're just being reharvested the second that they appear again by other people. Tree goods seem to respawn substantially faster than they did last world even.

Stones respawn...? News to me.
Lucky: haven is so quirky
Lucky: can be so ugly, can be so heartwarming
Sevenless: it is life
