Badger, they are aggressive and will cause Deep Cuts when they attack you, roughly 40 damage per hit.

Scared the crap out of me, I didn't even try to approach it. Only got close enough to take a screen.
Any ideas?
Edit: so apparently that's a dryad. Is it anything more than a flavor in the game?

They are significantly less aggressive than boars, but they do aggro.
