Picked up bats can still aggro player (and the carrier).
If a picked up bat aggros someone, it flies to him, attacks to him, then promptly teleport back into your arms.

Bats are now basically Boomerangs. Weaponized bats.
We have the technology.

Also bats can't be killed from bow when they not aggred
