I find the lack of it pretty disturbing even though I have a good computer who should be able to run a client lag-free like Hafen. I'm able to play just fine without lag on either Salem or more RAM demanding games such as Skyrim or Dota.
Maybe that's the custom client's job, but there should be more options and considering the game is 3D now, WASD controls should aswell be added as some are more comfortable with it.

Sucks that they didn't copypaste WASD movement from Salem like they did with Buddy list and hickory tree model.
