Re: Jorb - PLEASE fix healing
Yes, I am considering doing just that.
What pains me, however, is that I know you're working from some assumption where your hearthling should live forever in full health. I'm not.

Ehn, since you chose to bring it up instead of locking the thread lol. I know I've said it before, but:jorb wrote:Yes, I am considering doing just that.

I'm fine with permanent damage so long as there's some difficulty gradient attached with it. "Beginner mobs" shouldn't deal perma HP damage. Boars and up? Sure. Ants? You're having a little too much fun jorb

Don't, just make the other healing items soon. I can't believe I can't heal a bruise.jorb wrote:Yes, I am considering doing just that.

Your saying that your considering leaving in permanent HHP damage? that seems... extreme, and it sounds like people will be making new characters every other week.
Alternatively, it will just cause people to turn towards Alt-spamming, which you tried to do away with by removing HF-Spawning. Making a character to sit inside the walls and craft/build, while making another character to sacrifice for hunting/gathering because eventually that character will die to perm-HHP wounds.
Doesn't seem like the right course of action for what your trying to do with the death system.. there are other ways to accomplish the 'always dying' mechanic.

I think its fine that beginning mobs do perma-dmg considering you have to choose to go into combat with them. If you take the perma dmg, its your own fault. Boars, bears, Bats all aggro you.
This is assuming you must keep perma damage in place. I dont care for the idea of perma damage though.

While we're at it, may as well have Hearthlings die after 30-60 days of gametime to simulate "Old Age/Natural Causes" of death too!jorb wrote:

Something like a permanent limp, or vad scarring after one heals... they both take a permanent % off the character. Same wounds and it triggers again and the % gets bigger. Saying this though if it was added I likely be dead in an hour do the getting a limp after healing a wound lol.

Dying may be a bit harsh, but letting them grow old might be something.loleznub wrote:While we're at it, may as well have Hearthlings die after 30-60 days of gametime to simulate "Old Age/Natural Causes" of death too!jorb wrote:
