35 Exploration, 42 Perception.
Number of Flotsam found : 0
Number of Bluebells found : 0
Number of curiosities that aren't shit found : 0
Seriously?
What has been the point of pumping Exploration when nothing new is being found from when I had 10 Exploration and 20 Perception?
It's gotten to the point now that it requires 4 dragonflies to complete to put 1 point into Exploration and still I have nothing to show for all of these points. Dragonflies are still one of the better curiosities that I'm using, because I've quite literally not been getting anything better.
Bodies of water are now even more useless in the game due to the absence of Flotsam. What was the reason for not just putting Flotsam in the game as they were in old H&H?
Why are there no good curiosities what so ever currently?
What makes it more frustrating is people saying they found a bluebell with 10 exploration, and yet I, who has over 3 times that and lives by a swamp that I visit multiple times every day, haven't found shit. Clearly something is wrong here.
I should note that I've been going around multiple biomes and the only place that has curiosities show up similar to old H&H are mudflats. Too bad mudflats are tiny and sparse in this game.
I've been in caves plenty of times, which should be netting me plenty of Stalagoom with each visit judging by my Explo*Perc, as well as Glimmermoss occasionally, but again, I can walk through 5 caves and find nothing. Well, nothing except bats, they're the only thing that is abundant down there.
Bloated Bolete. Another decent curiosity that is strangely, retardedly rare now. I've never had one, but I know they exist.
So again, what is the deal with this? Because I'm growing tired of going on multiple hour long foraging hunts each day only to bring back shit all of interest. I don't know what's new about Flotsam since I, and I don't think anybody else has found one yet, but I already don't like it one bit. There's nothing good to get from the water now, unless you think filling your bag with mussels and hoping for a pearl is good.

I think they are luck based. Nothing more. Just like getting an oyster or getting an ant queen. All chance.

Maybe you should try asking the RNG more nicelythemaze1 wrote: Why are there no good curiosities what so ever currently?

There have been some days when chanterelles have been irritatingly rare, while on other days they're practically everywhere and I get half an inventory full of them within 500 squares of my home.

From 10 expl going up you see royal toadstools, candle berries, mussels!, glimmermoss. Flotsam is probably even higher or one of the newly ultra rare and random ones bluebell certainly is.

If the current system is based on luck, then it is objectively worse than how it previous was. If I went out in the old game with the intention of finding some Flotsam/Bluebells, then you best believe I'd come back with some Flotsam and Bluebells, and there's nothing wrong with that, since that's specifically why you would put points into Exploration, to find better forageable curiosities.fablewings wrote:I think they are luck based. Also consider that there are people in your relative area that are picking all of them and the section of the map has not been emptied from the server's memory so new things won't spawn much.

That's a good point, but that's not the case with me since I've been living alone, in a completely remote area with nobody for miles in every direction since the server went up. Only recently have I invited some friends to come and join me where I live, and non of them have had any bluebells or anything like that either.Anaklumos wrote:Also consider that there are people in your relative area that are picking all of them and the section of the map has not been emptied from the server's memory so new things won't spawn much.

I do wonder how exploration and foraging works now...
Found a bloated bolete with my 5 expl 12 perc character?
