Is it an ore?

If its a pyrite it should be. Try to make a stockpile, if its redish stones then its an ore

I did not know they had a different color for stockpiles, it is indeed an ore thanks a ton!

I believe pyrite is iron.

All pyrites are an Iron Sulfide ore, and typically pretty common one, too, if I remember my geology correctly without going to Wikipedia.

Pyrite can be found in a lot of minerals.
