Weirdness with Chicken food & qualities megathread.

Post by matsaucem »

Built a chicken coup with decent straw, boards and thatching all varying from Q13 to Q27 in the 3 fields. Filled it with Q10+ food and high Q water and threw in the chickens. Over two days they have dropped to 2/5/2 in quality.

Is the coup bugged at Q1 or am I doing something noobish?

Re: Chickens in coups Quality plummeting- bugged?

Should the coups be affecting their quality at all? That is weird.

Chicken coop

Post by AlecGrey »

Having just constructed my chicken coop yesterday and having my first eggs laid today I was frustrated to see all low ql eggs.
After a spell I decided to look at the ql of my initial chickens had dropped ql. They dropped from ql 10,10,10 to ql, 8,6,9.

Are the chickens no longer free from losing ql even when fully grown and initially wild caught?

The ql stuff was over ql 10,10,10
My issue isnt with the eggs. It is with grown chickens losing ql.

You know there is a random range of something like [-5, +5], right? It's not unusual for your first eggs to show up as poorer quality.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

All I can do is confirm, chickens are slowly losing quality. Ours are at q3, started at q10, and have never seen anything less than q10 in their life: not the building, not the food, not the water.

Something seems wrong anyways.

we used q 15 for boards and straw and thatch for the coop and 40/20/13 water and 17/37/23 food and chickens are decreasing seemingly after each egg lay.

The real issue is that the babies once hatched drop quality as well unsure if this is intended would like confirmation or potential issue from Jorb
