Re: TP Map Tool v3.1.7
Small feature request: In Options, would like the ability to tell the mapper to do nothing with merged sessions, just leave them as they are. I prefer to merge/archive them manually into a single folder rather than series of sessions (usually just a backup of the main map archive).

Re: TP Map Tool v3.1.7
You must copy entrance (0:0) cave tile from your session to the appropriate cave folder (\Cave1\5\ for -1 level), then rename it - it must have the same index with the archive map tile of the layer above. In other words, cave entrance on -1 and cave exit on surface must have the same index. For example, if you build a mine at 2.5, -1 level map tile must have the same index (2.5) with the surface map tile with the mine.Apillion wrote:The mapping tool works really well only thing is i cant seem to get it to map caves...

After you place the initial map tile in the cave folder, you can run the automerge again - it will check all underground layers and merge them. Add black underground tiles to the exceptions.xml file if they are missing there for some reason.
If you have some other cave elsewhere- perform the same actions.
I'll try to add caves to the manual merge later a bit.
Will do in the next release.Drevar wrote:Small feature request: In Options, would like the ability to tell the mapper to do nothing with merged sessions,

Re: TP Map Tool v3.1.7
So what's the difference between cancel, delete and ignore anyway for duplicate tiles? What option should I do with overlapping good minimaps.
Edit: Occasionally your program will just infinitely hang, I just found out it was generating a lot of zoomed out tiles on level 4, just happened using auto. Session folder only had 1 folder left too.

Edit2: Okay, it does it every time now, this is 3.1.7 btw, I'm going back to 3.1.5 for now.

Re: TP Map Tool v3.1.7
Can you add a check for black tiles in sessions (to ignore them, not all sesion, but only black tile)
It's probably temporary problem of 'shovel' client, but anyway it easy to do.
Or add option to see black tile in merged map, so we can delete them manually (easy way is option to select background color of the map)
Also as program now saved window size, can you save 'maximized' state as well?

Re: TP Map Tool v3.1.7
I use Minion's and bdew's clients which use a mapping system that profiles the tiles with hashes in a fingerprints file. It seems the Map Tool doesn't like any sort of file other than .png's to exist. Trying to manually merge these directories with the fingerprint file hangs the program. After deleting the fingerprint file it works fine.
Get to the point already?....Could the Tool totally ignore non-png files instead of puking all over itself when it encounters one?
An additional feature request: Could the settings for the Marker and Cave layers be persistant? Thankee

Re: TP Map Tool v3.1.7
I'm very much appreciating this tool.
A quick request I have is that there be an additional layer, like markers, which allows the adding of a line drawn between 2 points. This way I could use that feature to draw on road routes that I've constructed. Perhaps allowing colours for the lines.
Another quickies would be to make the text on markers stroked with a black outline for readability.
Overall a great little tool.

Re: TP Map Tool v3.1.7
Using minion client map files will not merge at all for some unknown fucking reason, I'm looking at the map tiles now and instead of the start tile being given the co-ordinates 0,0,0 they vary between each save for example in one save the starting tile has the co-ordinates _-48_7 and in another save the same starting tile is 35_17, I don't even know what the fuck is the point of this but I presume that's why its confusing the shit out of your mapping tool
I also had this problem trying to merge the map files from the amber client
(EDIT)
Messed around with it a bit more and this does indeed seem to be the issue with merging the files, (just used your mapping tool to merge all my salem map files) it worked for the most part..
(EDIT)
Just tested Enders client it seems to be the only one that saves the correct file names/co-ordinates

Re: TP Map Tool v3.1.7
Will post update on the feature requests later today. Thank you all for the feedback.
Delete - deletes the duplicated tiles both from archive and/or current session where they have been detected. (moves to the Deleted folder actually)
Ignore - add tiles to the ignore list. This options should be used to add correct tiles that can occur on the map multiple times (like water/snow/grass tiles) to the ignore list in order to avoid them to be considered as a merge anchor for some sessions that contain them.
The entire option with displaying a duplicated tile has been made for you be able to figure out if you really have a duplicated tile or you have faced multiple sessions, saved in to a single folder.
Cancel - makes no action with the duplicate tiles.g1real wrote:So what's the difference between cancel, delete and ignore anyway for duplicate tiles? What option should I do with overlapping good minimaps.

I will check it out but there must be read-write access to the entire map archive folder.g1real wrote:2: Okay, it does it every time now, this is 3.1.7 btw, I'm going back to 3.1.5 for now.
Session tiles' coordinates do not matter. All tiles are initially compared with entire map archive by tile size so if the client saves the same location tiles in a different file size (size in bytes), automerge will not be able to detect likeness between such sessions. You can check it easily by logging in and out twice, and compare the last two sessions after such procedure.camobeast wrote: I'm looking at the map tiles now and instead of the start tile being given the co-ordinates 0,0,0 they vary between each save

Re: TP Map Tool v3.1.7
So how do I save this as the map its stitched together instead of multiple seperates?
