Didn't say if the characters had been killed. I'm sure a few did, but I doubt all of them were.overtyped wrote:1 month is garbage for losing a character to a bug, but its better than nothing !

Dev cape? Why

I'm not sure that I have a strong argument against sketch colors - Jorb, November 2019

I`m quite sure his devcap will be in HF of any character he create now. Same as store hats.susan_strong wrote:Did Headshot's devcape was deleted with his character ?:o
Edit: nice dev resolution, imo. Bug abuse should not be tolerated.

I think its like a joke, because his character got the cape, and then got deleted.shubla wrote:Dev cape? Why
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

It's only fair, if you treat bug reporting and bug abusing as separate incidents.shubla wrote:Dev cape? Why

Seems like a fair ruling.
@Dev Cape: It is actually the proper thing to do. He first exploited the bug so he gets punished with the others. But he also reported it afterwards the reward of that being a dev cape. Capes are account and not character bound btw.

I think it's entirely fair. Reward for reporting the bug, punishment for abusing the bug.TwentyThree wrote:Grats on catchin'em!
Poor Headshot though. Shoulda kept his char in my opinion.
Though now that people get banned for exploiting, I do wonder about the question I posed in the other thread: How far can we go without being punished for it?
Can we still safely abuse obvious design mistakes and minor bugs? Is anything that affects other players off-limits?VDZ wrote:Now, the real question is: Where do we draw the line?
Should it be allowed to collect Dragonflies in a swamp using the horse's magical swampwalking abilities?
Should it be allowed to one-shot animals using the bow at 1 MM (before the fix)?
Should it be allowed to abuse the horse's hitbox to fight animals above your level?
Should it be allowed to trespass into a claimed cave without Trespassing using a horse?
There's varying degrees of bug abuse (from design mistake to blatant abusable bug) and varying degrees of harm caused (from minor advantage for user to complete annihilation of other player). At what point does it constitute 'abuse' and should abusers be punished for it?
