It's like being partially responsible for stealing, if the victim wouldn't have money i wouldn't steal it right?

The only reason i can imagine why character can be ingame when the player is logged off - recent crime. Have never committed serious crime myself, so no idea. And in such case, well, you get what you was asking for, even if they used a bug to get to you. Don`t crime

Summarizing, you cannot defend your village with your character, because you would become criminal and than your going to die because you deserve it right?
And you cannot defend your stuff from being stolen or destroyed because your weak?

I see no logic in your posts, sorry. I feel like i don`t want to discuss anything with such a person. If you don`t agree with my opinion i don`t mind, it`s all matter of personal vision of this situation.
I just try to oppose those asking for char restoration (and even server rollback) cause of few villagers killed. It`s sad, but it`s harsh game of Haven.

Kinda bad situation, but when i see raiders bugging the wall and opening the door - i`d run to house, logoff and go to skype deciding if we should defend ourselves or wait till raiders gone. Alternatively, if i`m brave and strong - i can rush for the first raider breaking in and block the gate with my body while i try to kill him. There is always an option.

ill be looking forward to hearing of your brave story when something ever happens to you.

Now that I look at the picture really hard, it would make for an incredible vault and or a fortress now.

Usually my bad situations end without forum drama, i just die to strangers or move to underground vault (it was possible in HnH1) and wait there.
Also crafting decent Cutthroat armor saved my life twice in W7. I`m not brave, more likely i`m coward, so in bad situation i try to escape and log out. Goods can be restored, while grinding new character is frustrating.

You started with stating that walls is only 1st layer of defense right? and if someone is about to break in you fight him off.
When you KO him you leave battery scent and murder eventually, which won't allow you to log off. everything is clear so far?
So you cannot log off, and someone is jumping over your walls while your not playing and killing your character.

So you got killed because:
a. You were too weak or not armed well enough?
b. You were committed serious Crime of killing the one who attacked your village, so you deserved to be killed?

Of course You have lost your stuff in both cases "partialy" due to a bug.

Let me know what is your personal vision of the situation?

Cliffs are no longer free walls. People can jump down from cliffs and even up cliffs regardless of the height of said cliffs. The unevenness of cliffs makes building walls also a lot more difficult near them.

It would look cool, sure, but it's incredibly impractical.

of course its better than nothing at all, but cant you at least give them some curio to get back on feet, their char sheets should have their status recorded and not like you could gain stats after death.

Because whenever we try to "restore" things, it always ends up so horribly arbitrary and unfair that I honestly think it's better to not even try at all. What about the people who "only" lost goods but not characters? What about when we start receiving reports from other people who died, and we can't verify whether they died in combat, or even if they did, in combat that was related to this bug? &c&c. There are so many minute details even in cases that may at first seem completely clear-cut.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the way the game currently works that you can aggro (even kill?) people on your claim/inside your village without leaving scents?
