sabinati wrote:actually my point is that your argument is utter shit because all the things you are saying are easy and take little time are, in fact, not easy and do take time, otherwise why don't you have the stats to back up what you're saying? if you could get 500 farming in 3 days, why don't you have it already? you've been playing longer than i have.
And, yet, you're making no point at all. You're floundering in the realms of logical fallacy due to statistics, facts and numerical values questioning any sort of emotional or personal attachment you have to the current system. You are not disproving my argument in any way by suggesting that I do not take advantage of what I know.

Maybe, I consider it ridiculous, and I'm unwilling to take advantage of a broken and stupid system in an attempt to get above other players in an alpha game - especially considering there will be character resets.

Mainly, I just farm silkmoths.

Hey, the earth is actually flat, however i have no intention to walk to the end and prove it because i know its broken and i will fall down there.

The fact they're MARGINALLY better than that character. A group of characters with 100m LP in one skill compared to a character with 100m LP in all skills is about 2/10 better in each individual skill. That's tiny, to be perfectly honest.
At 10M LP, a character who put it all in one skill would be 40% better in that skill than a character who equally divided the 10M over 4 skills.

That 40% would cost 7.5M of the 10M.

My point exactly.

Wait, so, at 100m, it'd be LESS than 2/10?

I don't think 100M is a reasonable figure to discuss.

Possible ninja edit since I hit the wrong button: no, it's still 40%.

He's questioning your assertion based on a lack of empirical evidence... I wouldn't say that's entirely unreasonable, there are many ideas that look great on paper but fall down when put into practice due to a myriad of unforeseen issues

That isn't factoring in the value of dimishing returns. Honestly, There are only two skills outside of combat worth bringing *that* high. SMithing and farming.

Now where combat is concerned *supposedly* the skill values provide diminishing returns but J&L just haven't seen fit to divulge such critical aspects of the game and leave us stabbing in that dark.

Honestly from my experience, it's not enough.Haven't played with the recent implementation and tbh...don't really care to because it's just another shitty evolution of that same thing that was on the test server.

I have to admit, it's not as effective here as it would be in a subscription game with a single character slot.

But the growth of each individual character would be considerably slower, especially if Jorb implements the wyrd system.
Time and efficiency don't matter much when your running a macro. :P
