Wow! we are growing our own forest then! Nice update!
The ones who see things differently.

You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them.
And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.

"tiny amounts" does that mean only the tiles they are on.. or like 1 tile around them.. or further?

It means that for every step they grow, they will add one tile of forest terrain in a small radius around them (though not on the tile they are on, since that would cause them to grow faster). Of course, you can plant more firs later, on the tiles converted by then, in order to grow a forest faster.

Do these new forest tiles count for the chance of spawning forest creatures?

If we use this technique to create a new forest area of a screen in size, is there a chance of encountering boars/dears/bears in that new forest?

Yes, they're normal forest terrain just like any other.

Okay, another question. Does this mean that large forests will start expanding themselves without our help, or does that only work for new trees planted?

I assume the correct answer to that would be no. As Loftar said the trees spread forest tiles when they grow, and baby trees only come through us.
The grumpiest tree you ever did see.

Character: Hamel, previously Chieftain of Ancient Bottleneck, a founding father of the Confederation of Bottleneck. Currently a hibernating soul.

Oh well, just means I have to put more work into making the whole world a forest. If I had my way, the whole northern part of the map would be trees in every direction.
