There's two similar ways to do this idea, and both are better than the current system.
Similar ideas have been proposed in the past, but thanks to archiplex, the idea is changed to not affect the fep bar.
(First I want to clarify it's not 3x more fep or anything like that. It has nothing to do with the fep bar) This idea is: when you inherit, you gain a 3x stat multiplier but only for the stats you had on the character you inherited, and only until those stats are reached.
Let's say you have 10 psyche 100 int 100 strength 100mc before death
You die and inherit, and your new stats are all at 10. You eat some food and gain a point of psyche, but you will only get 1 point, because your psyche when you died was only 10. on the other hand, because you had 100 strength. if you gain a point of strength, instead you gain 3 points of strength.
This can be the same for LP too. Instead of gaining 1lp from a curio it would be 3lp, until you reach the total lp you had when you died.
It will give incentive to play, because the character you made before dying would not amount to nothing.
The multiplier could be less or more, whatever jorbtar wants.
Another good way to do this idea
Same as the op idea, except instead of getting 3 stat points, you get 3 more fep points, for stats you used to have.
For example, if you have 100 strength and 10 psyche and then you die.
On your inherited character, you eat a food that gives 1 psyche and 1 strength. That food would instead give 1 psyche 3 strength.

NEW inherit idea

Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

Re: NEW inherit idea
So essentially it is 3x bonus stat gain until you reach what your ancestor was before and the reason is to hasten recovery of what you lost before. Did I get that correctly?
What if the person dies before they reach the ancestor's original stats?
What if the person dies before they reach the ancestor's original stats?

Jorbtar can decide that, if he likes the idea. I don't care either way.Patchouli_Knowledge wrote: What if the person dies before they reach the ancestor's original stats?
Maybe the one with the most lp.

Re: NEW inherit idea
I don't mind the idea, seems to cushion the blow of dying a bit, which we already had in legacy H&H (change/trad slider) but conditional on investment, which is even better. Since stuff is still irrevocably lost (most stats, even with the buff) the game would still be a harsh environment where one has to be careful about what decisions one makes.

That's a bad idea, because you can, for example, put this LP into into another stats (not in mc and unarm)overtyped wrote: This can be the same for LP too. Instead of gaining 1lp from a curio it would be 3lp, until you reach the total lp you had when you died.

Specifics of the implementation, could be a discount for the previously held stats instead. The general idea of a rebate is more interesting than specifics, imo.APXEOLOG wrote:That's a bad idea, because you can, for example, put this LP into into another stats (not in mc and unarm)overtyped wrote: This can be the same for LP too. Re: NEW inherit idea
well, when I thought about it, the advantage to this outweighs that con, and it isn't even a big con, because you are still losing a character,APXEOLOG wrote:That's a bad idea, because you can, for example, put this LP into into another stats (not in mc and unarm)overtyped wrote: This can be the same for LP too. and if it's 6 months into a world, it would take you only 2 months to bring you back in action.
Maybe 2x lp would be better than 3x.

Re: NEW inherit idea
This isn't a bad idea. It would still require effort put in to get back on tracks, but would ease the loss of a character, which now is gamebreaking for many people.

This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.”

Not for jorb tho, because he plays 1 hour a week, and doesn't even know why people don't double layer their walls, and it's his own game.Asgaroth22 wrote:This isn't a bad idea.
