You can fight while carrying something.
Seems weird to be able to use chop, cleave or punch after using "lift" on a bear.

Well if u are able to carry a cupboard and paddle at once then right, using your b12 is fine too.

Must everything work exactly as real life with absolutely no abstraction between the "real" and "game"?

The alternative is that you can get completely fucked if an animal/player suddenly attacks you while carrying something. Not very fun!
