- tree rams for palisades (is moved similar to boats, only one can move the ram)
- catapults for brickwalls (maybe metal-strengten ram)- siege engine workshop
- - catapults can be moved like carts and have an inventory for 4 stone balls
- you can now craft stone balls from clay and stone
- you can fire with a catapult just like with a bow (but a lot less accurate)
- 2-3x 8 pictures for siege weapons, one picture for workshop, a lot of coding
If that system works out it could be expanded to the one above.

Epic sieges incoming !
This idea with setting up a workshop sounds awesome cause there would be some time to gather defenders.

Re: Siege weapons and stone walls
Stone walls sound awesome, but I dunno about being "many tiles" deep. That sounds complicated and exploitable.
But Stone Walls with the defensive strength of the current Brick Walls, and buffing Brick Walls to require either these siege weapons or, at least, much more than a throw-away alt with a pair of thanes and a pickaxe, sounds like a very beneficial change.
I could get behind some sort of archer tower on the cornerposts of palisades and other walls that allow a buff for marksmanship(quicker aim for shoot), or free ammo(fed arrows like seeds in a trough), or no bow/quiver requirement for helping to mount defense quicker(so you dont have to run and find them)
so to recap,
Palisades<Stone Walls<Brick walls
Guard Towers making new ranged combat more viable as defense
Keyrings and Sharks
Thanks

With many tiles deep i mean that there is a front with parapet wall ( X ) and some tiles where you can walk on ( O ) like this:
XXXXXXXXXXXX
OOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOO

Acutal i dont think brickwalls are stronger than stone walls though i dont know exactly. Brick-built structures were not necessarily weaker than their stone-built counterparts. In England, brick production proliferated along the south-east coast due to an influx of Flemish weavers and a reduction in the amount of available stone, leading to a demand for an alternative building material. Brick castles are less common than stone or earth and timber constructions, and often it was chosen for its aesthetic appeal or because it was in fashion, encouraged by the brick architecture of the Low Countries. For example, when Tattershall Castle was built between 1430 and 1450, there was plenty of stone available nearby, but the owner, Lord Cromwell, chose to use brick. About 700,000 bricks were used to built the castle, which has been described as "the finest piece of medieval brick-work in England".[120] Many countries had both timber and stone castles,[121] however Denmark had few quarries, and as a result, most of its castles are earth and timber affairs, or later on built from brick.[122] Also, most Spanish castles were built from stone, whereas castles in Eastern Europe were usually of timber construction.[123]

Re: Siege weapons and stone walls
why not just have Q make a difference and stone be the same as brick but look different

Because in that case drawing stone wall would be a waste of Jorb's time.

Re: Siege weapons and stone walls
look, stone walls would be better than brick because stone is fucking hard, and you can break a brick with less force than a solid stone (the kind that would be used for construction of a castle) plus stone castles look cooler than a brick castle, becasue that just looks like a suburban house on steriods
and seige is epci becasue then i can bombard my enemies for days before actually attacking
so im for seige and stone walls!

You are not a structural engineer.vikingdragons wrote:look, stone walls would be better than brick because stone is fucking hard, and you can break a brick with less force than a solid stone (the kind that would be used for construction of a castle) plus stone castles look cooler than a brick castle, becasue that just looks like a suburban house on steriods![]()

I agree that stone has a certain charm to it, however the pebble size chips we're currently playing with in H&H would certainly not make a stronger structure than the mud bricks we make

Re: Game Progression: Siege weapons, stone walls and epic sieges
oh no, not the pebbles, of course not the pebbles. we need to break up the rocks into chunks, then carve these chunks into stone blocks or something, and use them to make the walls. a wall of pebbles wouldn't protect you from a pebble

There could also be some kind of stone quarry to mine ashlar (big stone quader that take 2x2 inventory slots and can be used of catapults aswell).vikingdragons wrote:oh no, not the pebbles, of course not the pebbles. we need to break up the rocks into chunks, then carve these chunks into stone blocks or something, and use them to make the walls. a wall of pebbles wouldn't protect you from a pebble
