I would fucking hate to repeat something "x84.000". This was not my point but maybe i couldnt make it clear. Players still should be able to achive most of the skills in the same time like before.Chakravanti wrote:No you're right in fact, a lot of ignorant faggots supported turning H&H into runescape. In fact some dipshit made whole thread about turning H&H over to Jagex.

Re: Character Progression: Credos and change in learning system
The problem is that players are ignorant cunts and not willing to simply do what they do and get shit for it. They WANT EX-PEES NAO GIMME EX-PEES I WILL DO ANYTHING FOR THEM ZOMG I WANTS TEH EX-PEES
If people want to grind, fucking let them - they're doing it enough in this system. The only real argument against "Runescape-style" levelling is that you'll have to do different shit to gain experience in different areas instead of simply grinding teapots or hunting bears for everything, and that's not even a real argument. Switching things up and forcing people to do different shit in those areas is an improvement.

Re: Character Progression: Credos and change in learning system
The improvement in this system compared to your suggested one IS FUCKING OBVIOUS. You wont have to make 20000000 leather crafts to be reasonable in leatherworking. You dont have to attack 20000000 different animals in order to get a reasonable melee/unarmed skill. You can play the game the way you want to, and you are not bogged down by your retarded system.
Either system is macroable, the current one simply doesnt require it in order to be good at something. YOURS REQUIRES YOU TO MACRO IN ORDER TO BE HIGH SKILLED IN ANYTHING. YOURS ENCOURAGES MACROING, AND YOU SHOULD STOP TRYING TO SHOVE A SYSTEM THAT IS OBVIOUSLY NOT SUPPORTED DOWN PEOPLES THROATS.

I call bullshit on the macroing, and I think you're being a massively hyperbolic bitch. Furthermore, J&L will do what they want, so talk is cheap and harmless.Seizure wrote:The improvement in this system compared to your suggested one IS FUCKING OBVIOUS. This is not what this system does achive in my opinion. To pick up your example of leatherworking here is what is going on:Seizure wrote:The improvement in this system compared to your suggested one IS FUCKING OBVIOUS. You first need to kill an animal which gains you a lot of combat XP, than you skin it which gives you sewing XP. Hang up the hide to dry meanwhile you cook the meat and get cooking XP. You take of the dried hide and make some clothes and gain sewing XP again. Thats not boring at all in my opinion.
Thats only partly correct as i stated somewhere above.Seizure wrote:Either system is macroable, the current one simply doesnt require it in order to be good at something. The thing which i m concerned of is some deeper in game mechanics. In H&H you will ever need to repeat actions a lot, may it be for making food for attributes or crafting tea pots endlessly(which bots often do). In the current mechanic you are able to spend this points where ever you want ie smithing, combat, farming etc and can make a decent smithing/murder/farming/etc alt by crafting teapots with 1mio LP per ~ 2days realtime (maybe a bit more or less but 2days are a good estimation; i dont know of ways to get more than 20-25k LP/h) and minimal effort (beside writing the script).
Though scripting cant be prevented, the system from the OP would very difficult or nearly impossible because you do not only need a different script for each skill to obtain but certain activities like cooking/mining+smithing and especially combat skill are very difficult to script (for 12h+ contiously crafting/day)

You sure you've never played WoW? You're not quite offensive enough for Barrens chat, but with a little bit of training, you could troll with the best of them.Chakravanti wrote:We don't care.Winterbrass wrote:I swallow

barrens chat is overrated and cliche

Re: Character Progression: Credos and change in learning system
this "class system" isn't so useless.
1 - Isn't a must to take it at the begin of the game. Better if it is just OPTIONAL.
2 - And a noob that don't know nothing of the game can gain a "guide" for the first step of the game.
3 - better dont force it in a class. No. Simply you create a new chara, you talk with the people in the cave and you can talk to another new people, the "credo man" that allow you to choose if you wanna start with a specifically stats, or you prefer to start with nothing specifically.
Should be ok only if you start with some point, at the begin. Is not so ok that you start with 0 point in everithing and also 0 lp.
Maibe you can start with 600 lp and use it when you want, or go to the credo man to let him use it for you to help you at the begin.
Just this.
No classes, simple an help.

2. For newcomers this would indeed be a great help. They may choose their credo and get a clue which sliders improve they may improve further. Also if you dont want to specialise you can still choose the "Lone wolf" credo that improves gaining all skills faster.Flame wrote:this "class system" isn't so useless.

By the way good idea with the "credo man" waiting in the starting room
3. By my definition class is something that prevents you from doing something like "casting fireballs as a warrior" or so. The credo is your set of beliefs so acting against your beliefs make it harder to do something but still leaves you with the option to do all things you want.
