Ctrl + Click to get out of boats

I think That there should be an easier way to get out of boats.
When i was a newbie it took me two days to figure out how to get out.

Now my Ctrl Key is broken and i can no longer exit boats.
This is a lazy design flaw that needs to be fixed.

How else would you design it then?
I don't want to accidentally get out of my boat just left clicking land.

Standard keyboards have two Ctrl keys. Use the other one.

on windows there is a onscreen keyboard - start menu > all programs > accessories > ease of access > on-screen keyboard

you can also use a program and remap the keys yourself, i use hotkeynet and you can set any key to ctrl-click. it's pretty simple with the tutorial they give for it

Note also that control clicking positions how you get out of the boat. Any other interface would be either less helpful or more cumbersome, it's not lazily implemented at all.

The lack of easily obtainable hotkey command documentation on the other hand... (yes I've seen a post buried in the forums somewhere but that doesn't help new players and should be a part of the client).

My left click button is broken.

Why not just right click the boat while riding and allow selectable options?

Why not just right click the boat while riding and allow selectable options?

It's slower and prone to network latency hiccups.

I know Don't Starve in the Shipwrecked DLC you just click the land after approaching to disembark, but it's a "follow the cursor" movement interface, not necessarily a point and click. It is an option, not sure I like it over the current Haven method of deliberate disembarking.

Arguably there should be some way of doing this without relying on the keyboard.

Playing the game without keyboard would, while theoretically possible up to some point, increase mouse mileage by an order of magnitude. And the moment combat starts you would be toast, wouldn't you?

Better suggestion: A Manual.
