Garden Box

Small garden boxes to allow us to plant crops in mountains, beaches, and caves.

Make them need constant soil and water refills to prevent exploits. They could be a nice store item too.

Beaches, mountains... ok (while I question their durability on beaches because you can't wall them in on sand).

But please not in caves, since there is no sunlight.

I wonder what could go wrong with that, I guess it could be topped by being able to farm glimmermoss in this crates though.

or rhubarb

Would be news to me that this grows without light.

This is not growing. This plant uses energy of its roots in hope to make some leaves. (This kind of growing allows plant make thin edible leaves)
Before this plant grows in sun in normal soil with tonns of fertilizer.

The Dwemer have lived on underground roots and mushrooms for centuries, that's all the proof you need that a cave-based diet is viable :D

The crops don't need to be the same as the surface ones. Mushrooms and roots are perfectly good alternatives. And since we're at it, I'd love to go full paleolitic and eat taproots and raw meat again.
