The idea behind not letting people log out instead of summoning is good in theory, but the reality is that it's a giant pain in the ass for ever being able to track people. It's also a nightmare if you ever have your internet crash while you're out and about. My suggestion would be to let characters log out as long as they have a hearthfire and for scents to be summonable at the hearthfire again. Summoning would instantly kill the character to avoid any shenanigans with summoning people back with redhanded/in combat situations. If you have no hearthfire you can't log out, if your hearthfire is broken with scents out, you're summoned and killed at the fires location.
The 2 man advantages to this system would be that you don't leave your character stuck out in the wilderness for long stretches of time if you disconnect with scents and also that it would be much, much easier to track people who leave their hearthfires again like in legacy because you could see when the player is actually online.
Alternatively, make it so you can see when the perp is offline (but still point to the perp for obvious reasons) when you track so it's easier to tell when a perp is active.

Idk. The lack of summoning is quite elegant.

Can you think about this then?
It's really hard to track people when you can't even tell when they're actually online and active.bmjclark wrote: Alternatively, make it so you can see when the perp is offline (but still point to the perp for obvious reasons) when you track so it's easier to tell when a perp is active.

Downside of the suggestion would be that it would enable some form of teleporting into a vault.

You'd be killing anyone you summoned so it wouldn't really allow teleportation =s

What I ment was that the criminal could move the point of interaction from his location to his fire, which could worst case be once across the map and then having to build 5 mineholes.
As it is now he actively has to get away, with your suggestion he would be done through logging out.

I really agree. I hate the summoning idea. It's so easy to just make in impenetrable hearthfire vault. I think the Outlaw buff is fine as it is. The only downside is that sometimes I leave my character in the way and need to move them again.jorb wrote:Idk. The lack of summoning is quite elegant.
Forcing criminals to have to travel back home on foot instead of logging out in front of the place they raid is way better. It's stupid to let you just log your whole raiding party out some where.

My suggestion would leave redhanded untouched. But again, if not the changes to outlaw, please consider doing thisOnep wrote: Forcing criminals to have to travel back home on foot instead of logging out in front of the place they raid is way better.
