It might be a permissions thing, not sure how to give scripts permission... been trying for a few hours now, but kind of stuck on getting permission to give permission... (thinking about permissions because need to give a different script permission to change mouse settings but can't figure that out either)

Top priority atm. Just waiting for when we start making steel.
RaidenKoizuma wrote:When it gets to "Building Map" the client just crashes. any fixes?
Run with run-debug.bat and post the error log.
Clemence wrote:A suggestion : the client take some time to open, and I often wonder if I correctly double clicked or not, leading to open 2 windows.
Would be handy to have a pop up saying the client is opening as soon as you open it, saying to wait a bit for the opening.
It probably won't help much to integrate that to the client, the popup will show with the same delay. But you can add this

Code: Select all

msg * Haven and Hearth is loading...
As the first line in run.bat. The only problem is that you'll need to manually close the message box.

No idea, sorry. Check that you have all the relevant options enabled and sound volumes are not set to 0.

Might be an issue with OpenJDK. So if you use that try installing Oracle's JRE (and make sure that its the one being actually invoked from the command line).

Um, think it is now?...

java version "1.8.0_73"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_73-b02)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.73-b02, mixed mode)

where previously it was
java version "1.7.0_95"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea 2.6.4) (7u95-2.6.4-0ubuntu0.15.10.1)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.95-b01, mixed mode)

But still getting the same error :d

Edit: Oh, got the mouse script to work by just typing "sh filename" in terminal, it still doesn't work if I click it from the desktop :/ buuut... when trying to do the same with run.sh, it says "Error: Unable to access jarfile hafen.jar" which is right there in the same folder o,o

Try removing ~/.java/.userPrefs folder, maybe settings file got corrupted.

... can't find that anywhere
Why do I always post seconds before finding out how to do something? stupid hidden files being hidden D:

Anyway, now it acts like it's loading something when clicking run.sh, but nothing happens. sh run.sh in terminal still gives Error: Unable to access jarfile hafen.jar

Edit-again: Omg I got it to work, I had to change hafen.jar to the full filepath in run.sh. Idk why lol. Thanks! Finally can play with all the extra goodies :D

I have a suspicion that somehow default client when invoked through JNLP loads a different set of video drivers than the custom clients or maybe uses different java installation.

If you have both discrete and integrating GPU, check the management utility for you video card, there should be a place where you can assign specific GPU to applications (java).
Perhaps updating video drivers directly from the vendor site instead of Windows update would help.
But don't know really, all that are just theories...
