Wow it's like trading with locals isn't a thing nor is letting newbies gawk at your village to encourage them to build something as grand for themselves or ply them into joining your own something that happens anymore.

You're right this game's social aspect is utter shit!
W3 to W6 - Blockland. Special mentions: New Avalon, Tarn of Hotdog, Red October.
W7 - Elvenia, til we all got lazy.
W8 - Cult of R'lyeh, til the deeps called us back.
W9 - Tartarus, til death/wizards came for the land itself.
W10 - ???, ruined and forgotten.

Trading didn't require visitor. Letting a noob didn't require it either, as if your intentions weren't to kill him - you wouldn't. Now people are more scared of being closed in a village, with a visitor debuff, with no way of fighting back.

My point is and was - visitor doesn't make the social aspect any better, if anything - makes it worse. Not that the social aspect overally is shit.

I think we can all just agree that the whole "visitor" mechanic needs a better implementation than the current one. It shouldn't go away, it's just that in it's current state it can, under some circumstances (such as this thread), do more harm than good, by fooling everyone into a false sense of security. In others, this same "visitor" mechanic can even be abused to beat someone to death at your own mercy (example: frost's death, where he was stuck in a fence with a visitor buff and no ability to do anything about his demise).

As it currently stands, the "visitor" buff should rather be named "helpless". It gives too much power to the claim owner, and none to the buffed person in question.

I also think that the insta knock out mechanic when someone is aggroed in visitor debuff should be removed. It scares people from using visitor debuff. they should just be kicked back to hearthfire or outside the gates.

Visit debuff needs to be fixed to be given on all types of entry into a palisade/bwall , be it minehole, teleport etc.

Bugs are actually the mistakes in code. There are very few actual game-breaking bugs were in hnh, for example ability to get billions of LP because of unsigned int overflow bug in W4. The most well-know examples i think are fast-tanning bug, 1-branch lit bug.

In most cases there are mistakes in game logic, not in code. That's what people call 'abuse'.
This is a one or couple of game mechanics used in a way that developers are not expected. For example:
- Top-quality nuggets/crops grinded via Prays (W7). It was absolutelly legit in terms of game mechanics, no bugs evolved, just noone though about it would be possible at some point.
- Infinit ram movement (W7). There were no bugs in code, just missing logic checks, because devs didn't expect that someone will open flower menu before the ram will be repaired and use "Move" after (and players didn't expect this too for 6 worlds)

If i understand this specific case properly, this guys used enemy charter to create new character with vandalism and jumped back to the hearth fire so they will have no Visitor debuff. All this mechanics itself are pretty legal, but since a lot of people on this forum (including devs) didn't expect that this combination will lead to village raid, this is abuse.

So, since we already have "abuse -> raid" precedent, i think the solution should be obvious.

Don't think a person who was nuked and banned multiple times should have any voice in here. Obviously your judgement is very emotional, against us.

Besides, there's a big difference between a bug that allows for quality grind or whatever other unintended mechanic (bugrams) and a mechanic (technically unintended, but logically - why would you get visitor when you port to your own hearthfire?) "bypassed" by another mechanic (charterstone is completely not related to porting to hearthfire, and it was used completely legally - allowed by the charter itself), not actually related to each other.

Not to mention that you guys yourself say it's something unintended. What exactly should be punished about it? Still looking for that answer!

Technically this is pretty legal to build a chair
Technically this is pretty legal to sit on it
Technically this is pretty legal to destroy a chair
Technically this are no restrictions that you cannot do it near a wall
But it was considered to be an abuse.

For rading another players via abuse

I don't care about you actually. But i would like to see some forum drama related to your nuke. Drama is always fun

That's right. It would be a shame if the visitor debuff is nerfed just because the devs don't want to intervene in player behavior and think abuses are inevitable. Not to say it would practically ruin ladygoo's market thing.

25+ pages of complaining if this is bug abusing or not while it's obviously a bug abusing. The only way you can raid somebody is using the siege mechanics, get over it.

Oh cmon, let's stop pretending like this is by any means a mechanic. It's a bug. I don't even know if you're joking right now?
Abusing a mechanic and abusing a bug are two COMPLETELY different things. Stop being salty over you being a scum and getting nuked for it.
Technically it's not legal to appear somewhere else out of nowhere by hitbox blocking.

Yeah, bugs bugs bugs.
No bug in using someones charterstone. There's obviously an unintended mechanic in relation of hearthfire porting and visitor debuff, but that's it. Just a lack of relation between them - which almost everyone is using, just by porting into a village. Everyone should be punished? Retards will still say "bug abuse" though.
