A dream about war

Morning everyone.

I woke up to a very terrifying dream this morning, however I don't really understand why I had it.

I'm an american (as you know) and a young one at that, I've never gone through any type of war that involves the invasion of my country, so I'm a bit lost as to why I had this dream

Here's how the dream went

It was a cloudy early morning, I was in a countryside town, there were a handful of older brick buildings around with a few small normal houses, a pretty typical sight that you'd see where I grew up at.
Pretty much everyone was outside, we heard the sound of a ton of planes flying overhead, and when I looked up, I saw i'd say about 20 planes or more, flying in a straight line. After a few moments they started dropping bombs, and all you could hear was a mixture of screaming, whistling, explosions, and the loud roaring of plane engines and artillery booming in the distance. For some reason I grabbed a hold of someone who was a bit smaller than myself, (for some reason they couldn't walk, i'm unsure as to why) And I bolted for a house that a ton of people were starting to gather up to. As I was running for the house, there was a man I passed who was directing people toward the house, and he got nailed by an artillery shell as I ran past (This is the point that I remember most in this dream, for some reason, it's sort of the moment when all of this came alive to me). After that, I started running harder, trying as hard as I could to get to the house, I felt like my chest was on fire, I felt like I was actually sprinting for my life, and finally, I busted into the house, and ran down a few flights of stairs (another odd thing is that the house had a basement that was like 4 stories underground? I have no clue).

Once I got down there, the dream started to break apart, it wasn't really cohesive after that point, it switched to a view of a shelled out city, paratroopers falling from the sky, gunning down civilians, soldiers killing people and police officers trying to protect people, at that point I wasn't really running, I wasn't doing anything, I was just watching the fighting go on, and then I woke up, freaked out a bit.

Then I came on here to post my dream, hoping someone could shed a little light on why im having weird dreams like this, that are so vivid in my head.

Or maybe get some interpretation

You have a lot of memories in your Brain of different sorts: reality, media stuff and perceptions (like what you visually imagine when reading something), often in a visual form - with those your dreams get composed

If you have such dreams they get triggered from outside influences - there might have been some noise around you (kitchen machine, a helicopter over your block, hammering neighbour...) or your body felt unconfortable by a cold draft blowing over it or being unnaturally swaged (like your neck gets bended) - this way your body tries to alarm your consciousness ...

What i think is the main message of the dream that might tell you something is this:
"For some reason I grabbed a hold of someone who was a bit smaller than myself, (for some reason they couldn't walk, i'm unsure as to why)"

Even in the worst situation you're not just thinking about yourself ... inhumanity and fear doesn't let your humanity go off
