So, I really really want to play this game. But for some reason when I load it up, I get an error that says:
"Fatal Launch Error: could not launch JNLP file. The application has not been initialized, for more information execute Javaws/browser from command line and send a bug report."
Please help! I really want to play this game!
Edit: I use Linux Mint cinnamon, if that helps.

Re: Not working on Linux
you'd better go with a custom client ...
Amber even has a run.sh (shellscript) included which you run in terminal

Mint is fine with it ...

Re: Not working on Linux
How do I get the Amber client to run on Linux? I am fairly new to linux myself, so I am not quite sure what to do. Do I enter a command in the terminal?

Re: Not working on Linux
unpack Amber to a folder in your /home directory
open up Terminal ... use command to point to your /home/Amber folder and type press Enter
Java should open and client starts
open up Terminal ... use
Code: Select all
cd~ /AmberCode: Select all
./run.sh Java should open and client starts

# cd <your java directory>
# update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/java java <your java directory>/bin/java 100
# update-alternatives --config javaCode: Select all
# update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/javac javac <your java directory>/bin/javac 100
# update-alternatives --config javacCode: Select all
# update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/jar jar <your java directory>/bin/jar 100
# update-alternatives --config jarCode: Select all
# export JAVA_HOME=<your java directory>
# export JRE_HOME=<your java directory>/jre
# export PATH=$PATH:<your java directory>bin:<your java directory>/jre/binBronies for life /)
