Re: Game Development: King's Bounty
People who attack others should have to buy assault tokens. So that way the innocent poor nabs won't be assaulted by all the big mean no-lifers all the time. Also, when the evil players drive others from the game they'll have to make up for that lost revenue with the assault tokens

Re: Game Development: King's Bounty
If anything first week should be easy time for nab startings, yes? Other faction is less develop. If nab starting now then of course these advance player can murder already. What is benefit of delay beginning of world to nab? I think balance at early world is exclusive relevant to hardcore player. If you want to help these nabs then you want to look to late world balancing I think.

i don't think that making someone pay 100K lp more will change the fact if someone does or doesn't kill someone

Re: Game Development: King's Bounty
A person would think this that hasn't had extensive experience, but the truth is just the opposite. The start of a world is actually harder for new players. The vets are roaming far and wide to find where to settle their kingdom at, and are more likely to run across everyone.Ysh wrote:If anything first week should be easy time for nab startings, yes?
When should a new player start? Best time, IMO, is after the initial dust settles, 2-3 months into the server at a minimum. Big Boys are settled in and more concerned with the other Big Boys than raiding every other homestead. Since the player is new, they're not even going to have a homestead established yet. A month in from character start is when that's likely to happen, and then everyone has settled back into fighting wars or raising quality.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

The best time for newbie to come in, is when something like this is already posted (and the more explosions - is better).MagicManICT wrote:A person would think this that hasn't had extensive experience, but the truth is just the opposite. I disagree somewhat, you're right that there may be a more ideal time for a new player to start than at the exact same time as everyone else but that's also quite boring in my opinion. That early game rush for territory and resources is when I find the game to be the most fun and I think a lot of players share this feeling. Something I think the devs should focus on is really trying to extend the length that early game feeling remains for up in to the mid-game content and eventually end game.

Re: Game Development: King's Bounty
You talking more about the hermit in new world, rather than pure newbie. I agree that first weeks of World 9 was most excited time for me (when you have no clue of the surroundings and nearest mountain is full of ore boulders, and you're trying to hide as much of ore as you can without being even able to pali your spot... constantly dying of some sombrero assholes tramping "your spot" every two hours).Kaios wrote:I disagree somewhat, you're right that there may be a more ideal time for a new player to start than at the exact same time as everyone else but that's also quite boring in my opinion. The newbie needs more "boring" time to learn basics of this quite complicated game without too much rush. IMO.
Nevertheless, this all can be talked only theoretically, because we don't know how and when the W10 will be introduced.
