When nobody believes the government, especially kids who hate going to school, banning something is a pretty sure way to make it seem awesome.Jesus_Smith_Nandez wrote:I judge people for doing these as well, but these effect your head less than weed does which is especially important at a young age. I would agree that these should be illegal, but they are already too far ingrained in society to be removed now (see: 1930s)Jalpha wrote:Should alcohol be legal? Cigarettes?
Where I live, the legal age is 18, but I do think it should be 21 like in the US or even 25.
Don't get me wrong bro, I'm not completely innocent I've been around the block with this kind of shit a few times, but I feel like I've improved myself as a person since then and that's why I'm against it now. I have seen it first hand ruin peoples' lives. I have no reason to lie and make it seem worse than it is, it has actually been that bad for me. Yeah, smoking is addictive and gives you cancer in your lungs, but you can at least wean yourself off of them and recover yourself; brain damage is irreversible. Alcohol might be as bad, but no one is claiming it isn't; kids are smoking weed at such an alarming rate because of the misconception that it's not bad for you at all, or even that it's good for you and I don't think that that's OK br0Jalpha wrote:It's highly debatable that they are less harmful than weed. Both have worse health side effects from heavy usage than weed. Nicotine is an industrial poison and also highly addictive as is alcohol. Alcohol is a major contributor to other crimes. Alcohol is far more toxic to brain cells.
In fact... Boxing is worse for your brain than weed. Should we ban this barbaric sport?
I don't want to go off on a weed derail, there's a thread for it already, but I couldn't prevent myself from pointing this out.
News flash, weed is already illegal. It didn't stop most from smoking it.Jesus_Smith_Nandez wrote:Don't get me wrong bro, I'm not completely innocent I've been around the block with this kind of shit a few times, but I feel like I've improved myself as a person since then and that's why I'm against it now. Of course, it's me that's the sheep, the one who's pushing against 3 people trying to be an unique as possible instead of seeing what's morally right.MagicManICT wrote: the bullshit they're fed in elementary school and can't let go of
