Which will be some orders of magnitude more in case you factor in how many active developers CCP employs. Not that you can simply multiply with the number of heads in a development team, but increasing the size of one from one to way more will actually result in an increase of development speed (after an initial training period for the new team members).MagicManICT wrote:*Well, that and about 10 more years development time.

This is big difference for allow casual appeal. EVE have more resource and infrastructure, much bigger developer team, and so on. Game is much more complete all around.MagicManICT wrote: The only real difference between the EVE and Haven is high sec (patrolled) space*.

It probably can, eventual. But right now? Haven has much less game than EVE does.MagicManICT wrote:Even if you took away that approximately 80% that don't leave high sec, you still have 60k subscribers. Why can't Haven have 5-10k?

I'm not sure you guys understand how small core dev teams are before release on a lot of titles. Startups like 38 Studios hiring hundreds of people are the exception rather than the rule. Teams start off with two to six people for several years. Hell, look how much Dwarf Fortress has grown with just two people!!

Re: Why haven and hearth isn't advertised more?
It appears to me your arguing is ''other game with some similarity is popular so this game should be popular.'' But this is obvious false. Your argument defeat itself because the game is known to be not popular. Clearly there is not enough similarity in the situation for them both to have the outcome. You can disagree with the example we give for speculating, but you can not pretend that there is no reason for the game to be not popular. If there was no reason, game would indeed be popular.MagicManICT wrote:I'm not sure you guys understand how small core dev teams are before release on a lot of titles. What I'm saying is that it has the potential to be. You guys are putting up arguments as to why it isn't and can't be. Optimist, meet pessimist...

And I agree that it can be. But I think it can not be right now, otherwise it would be.MagicManICT wrote:What I'm saying is that it has the potential to be. You guys are putting up arguments as to why it isn't and can't be. Optimist, meet pessimist...![]()

Re: Why haven and hearth isn't advertised more?
But HnH is not suitable for nearly as many players as eve is.MagicManICT wrote:eve
eve is bigger and better.
How can you even compare game that has been being developed for dozens of people for 10+ years to something like HnH that has been in development for like 8 years by 2 swedish guys not developing it even nearly full time. And most of this 8 year it has been abandoned. (Or being updated very little)
HnH is not worth advertising. Maybe some promotion posts on forums. But marketing it with real money at this stage would be dumb.
Maybe devs could promote their game a little and hope that they get like an interview or something

Since Jorb and Loftar are slacking in spreading the word someone should form an independent propaganda squad going around places spreading the word.
Then the devs can focus on bringing more great updates.
