That was quite some journey :3

I like the stone naming the mount, hehe...
And yeah, I would've tried to take the knarr too. Although, to be honest, I'm considering building one. They're so cool, I'd love to have one. :3
I might do it soon!

Keep up the good work :3

Chapter 2, Part 1: Of mammoths and cats

"Never take a gift horse for granted"

Image

Well this is a turning of the page, a full new set why something of Mammoth proportions has happened, well past me finding one dead. You see I am now the proud owner of a village, mainly composed of well me. But more on that in a moment.

You see I was working on doing quests for a few reasons, ones ill likely still need to push quests a lot for a long while to make easier. but ya more on that later as well. So I was heading over the mountain I named Rifdos. I thought well its a live mammoth nothing, but as you can see from the lovely shot I took, it was dead when I found it, this is a highly rare thing to see a dead one. So as any good hermit would do, I stuffed the thing in my boat and finished my quest. I head home and dump it in the normal spot I do normally when hunting as I prep to rip into my new prize. I clear off the drying racks to be ready for the first mammoth hide they about to see (they are also nice and new as well).

Image

I carefully slice off the fur and place it onto my wracks, I quickly start cutting into its tasty flesh.

Image

I sort and collect the bones and other peaces, store the meat into one of my cupboards.

Image

I quickly and carefully start carving the Mammoths tusks into items for me to study, soon I have 12 Ivory Statues ill study later.

Image

So yes ill likely hang a skin or two on my walls.... this was a shocking find, but while running around doing other quests it seems I have more people living in the area then there used to be. At least two new places have started to be built. One even landed a bunch of there gear with a Knarr so I wonder whats up and some of the peace I have had will soon end...

But yes I as part of my constant remodeling of my home I am doing right now. I built my own Village Idol and have it going, as you can likely see i have a few things built already. Like a gateway and some statues to show what little ego I do have off... but meh.

Image

More proud how my idol looks, Cherry wood, Copper, and the stone is Porphyry. Looks nice, and yes I am now the Cats Den. Since well I am wuild like a cat and this is my home. Plenty more adventures coming be they small or large.

Chapter 2 Part 2: Cat meets Wulf

"Long trips can be fun things, if planned right."

After finishing some small chores it sparks in my mind today would be as good as day as any to go for an adventure, not just anyone. One that I have had in my thouyghts for a while. Waiting for the right day to do so. Today felt like the right day so I grab my boat and start heading north. Boating like a mad person I make good time, an hour passes and soo I enter into my first kingdom.

Image

Nice little place they got hear, plenty of lakes and so on. I hope they are enjoying there location. Loving the beachs the most as I boat my way threw. Shortly I leave there kingdom and well run into another one.

Image

I quickly pass threw then, as I take a stop at a small bridge of land and rest a bit. Got to keep my strength up. After about another few hours boating I feel like I am close to where I want to be. That sense of a kingdom I have seen before in a past trip, one very very long ago. One that is named after what the tusks of that mammoth are made out of. I can feel myself cross the border as a wave of things fill me, knowledge of farming I do not have, some of my senses snap clearer then they are normaly. The rush of the place is shocking.

I have entered the Ivory Kingdom.

Image

You think I was to where I wanted to, but I know I am close.... looking for a mountain in this kingdom, I do know I have a bit of a ways to go yet. But I suddenly feel much much closer then I was. I boat deeply into the kingdom and soon, o so soon I find what I am looking for.

Image

These rapids are new to me so they are much harder to navigate then the ones I am used to, I am glad i am strong enough to push my boat up the waterfalls. I climb up it with my boat not fettering on how much I am pushing, harder then I wanted but this is a large one for me... I think but each falls is different.

I stop and want to look at some of the sights as I go, I am oddly attracted to some deep crevice I spot and look down into it.

Image

I look down and smile as I see one of my loved types of rocks deep down in a hard to get place. I let out a grin as I skip back to my Row Boat and start heading back up the mountain. Humming as I feel the crisp cold are on my cloaked head, I adjust my eye peace so it does not fall off as I keep rowing. Soon I find some massively high shear cliffs. Something not to common even on the mountain close by to me.

Image

I stop and take in how tall this cliff is, always something wild and new to see all over this world I life in. Wish did was not a 3 hour trip to get hear at least... see them more. But you settle wear you settle and stay close to stay safe. I suddenly burst back into rowing not going to get to where I want to be if I stop and take everything in. Does not mean I wont stop again if I see something worth stopping to check. This is a shocking-ly large mountain, I hate to be someone stuck up hear with nothing to eat, let alone clothing. I hope I do not spot any frozen Hearthlings up hear...

Soon I see off in the distance a large spire of ice, now this is something to check out. I quickly pull next to it and jump out of my boat, i am always willing to try and rab a shard of ice off these things, not common even in the wild wear I live.

Image

Placing my gloved hand on it to see if there is anything loose I see nothing is, still was worth stopping for. I jump back into my boat as the icy water sprays around me I let out a small giggle as I start rowing again, I know I am much closer then I was, since I am seeing snow. This means I am close to the top, or as close as these rapids will take me anyway. Soon I hear the trickling of something I love to hear, Spring Water. Nothing like the icy clear water of spring water. I dip my water flask into it and take a taste. Wonderful just like what I water my herbs with... hehe.

Image

I grab my boat and start the final trek towards my goal, The crunching sounds of snow under my hearthling feet. Wiggling some foot prints into the snow as I go, I am just amazed at how much lighter my boat feels now as I walk. After many minutes of walked, moving around a large number of cliffs on this place, I start to see in the distance what I have been traveling all this distance for:

Wulf's Retreat
Image

My host hears my approach and is waiting for me at his gate. He rushes to great me as I set down my boat. We shake hands, give a welcoming hug to each other. Then he invites me in for a drink. As I walk in and look for a spot to place my boat, I spot something that will help travel time, something that alone is worth boating all this distance. A charter stone!! I toss my boat down into a spot I think is fine, he even asks me to touch it just in case I can use it at a later date, while he goes and brings me a drink.

Image

He comes back with the drink as we start talking about my trip, the joys of finally making it and so on, we do this for quite some time. To the point it gets close to midnight.

Image

Realizing that we could use some light and warmth my lovely host lights a fire.

Image

We go back to talking before he asks if I want to see some of the Retreat before I head home. As I came to see it and him, I of course agree. Showing me some of the animal pens, and all the way to his room. We sit down on the couch, in a much warmer location.

Image

We chat some more about each of are plans on what we are to do next. In my mind I start to plot a few things, somethings that have already started to show fruit. He offers another drink before I go and we keep on talking. This is the longest I have talked to anyone in a very long time. Mainly people I see tell em they wont hurt me... which I do enjoy but its not much of a chat. In the end I write the places name on a parchment, grab my boat, close my eyes and let my Hearthfire call me home. I drop my boat is its normal area and rush to start my new plans.

Chapter 2 Part 3: Deaths and Hopes

"Even in death life goes on"

I have been quite for a while and there is a good reason. I have been expanding my plot. I was not going to post anything till my new walls are done, even built a new gate. But as all tales its not all positive many parts are yes but life does have its bumps in the road.

Image

Ya things move along as they have for quite a while. Past some wall bashing. You will start to see some of the changes soon enough. Some sooner then others. But this starts with a death of one of my alts, do not worry her daughter is alive. For now anyway... time will tell. But this is how it goes, she walked out of the gate and well ran right into a bear.

Image

Yes its quite saddening to see that screen, was in shock (well partly). She did ask me to make a cup of her skull so ill all ways know shes around...

But I go and pick her up and take her home, while I wait till shes ready to put to rest.

Image

She is home, I grab her skull as do as she asked, sadly this is a thing of wonder and terror, since now ill see who she was every time I eat at my table... the joys of sipping from your close friends skull. While sad this is not the worst and most depressing thing that has happened. Since you see while exploring to finish some quests (making me greet people across the map yay go them). I found something quite grim. A dead decaying Village. It was so sad I stopped the quest. I did not want to finish it after seeing this.

Image

Seems they liked Pyramids there was an unfinished one that was larger. About hear though I found my first skeleton head missing. I pack it into my boat and keep wondering about, in silent aww and feeling kind of down, such destruction. The way things look it will keep falling into just a foundadtion. One of which I found another body.

Image

I stuff it into my boat and warp home with a sigh.

Image

I haft to just do something before I put them to rest, the shear amount of ruins and all was making my heart ach. To see such death... I have not seen anything like that in a while. Stomped paved places where people put houses yes, but not it half decayed like this. I finish doing the quick task and go and put them to rest. I have a bluff at the end of my normal range where I place graves, its now up to 4 in the area, these two are together since I found them together.

Image

So I finish more quests in fact pick up some gift boxes, yay. Found some usefull things, best so far has been a gold and silver nugget. I went and wrapped a few and tossed them in the river. I pick to do a little baking before I check in after such a long and depressing day.

Image

But today is a new day, and while I have spent the last few rebuilding and expanding my smelters (thanks to a lovely friend). I went hunting. Gone are the days of my punching bats, if you remember that steel I was making a while back, it became a B12, my first battle-axe ever in game. Its been fund to learn how to use right, still got to get my skills up a plenty, but when you add a bow into your hunting mix you can do well, very well.

Image

Yes that is my expanded leather working area. Its much spacer and organized then the random piles I had about, also making it easier to walk in other areas. I also made myself a dragon helm from some of the gold and silver ect... when I moved into the area. Only use it once and a while, but its worth having. All in all 5 moose, 3 boars, 2 bears, and 1 Lynx. A lovely run. Man have I improved since I started this. Not shocking. Speaking of which this bring me to those lovely pigs.

Image

It did cost a good amount in the trade, but I offered a strong offer and thanks to wulf he found a seller willing to take my offer. The pigs will be very usefull in the long run. Plus its another meat option when I do not have time for hunting. Which happens when I have large projects... but when don't I!!!!
