Not random (uses it's own nodes/fields), but there is no way of knowing it before digging a well if that's what you are asking. At least there seems to be no connection neither with the amount of ropes needed nor with other resources around.

Little bump for my question, anyon know how the reward from the fighting system works ?

It seems like these combat rewards have some sort of cooldown. So if you kill a bunch of ants in a short period of time, only first few will give you a new move. From what i gathered if you start fighting another type of animal it will start giving you rewards again.

How to remove stump? In past I could just righ click and remove, now it doesn't appear no matter what tool I have equipped.

Use destroy command (A > Y hotkeys). Shovel is best tool for destroy it.
