Roadsigns and claims

Post by Scilly_guy »

There is a rock in the South that is very chatty, called Rolcyn, a lot of people have built roads to Rolcyn, and someone recently decided to claim them all. I travelled along my road to the rock, I was actually just passing through as its a shortcut to another river system but it wouldn't let me travel along the other roads because obviously they were claimed, although I didn't realise this at the time, it would allow me to look along the road but I couldn't travel, upon clicking I would be brought back to my character. Fine I thought, I'll take my boat and travel back along the path I came in on. Only I couldn't, as before it would let me look along the road but it wouldn't return me to my character this time. Relogging solved that problem, but still, it seems like a bug.

Also I would suggest that claims you don't have permission for should cause you to become waylaid at the boundary if the end of the road is within the claim.

Actually, this bug is even worse: everybody (each group, including white) has trespassing permissions on this claim. I claimed this area specifically to protect the questgiver and roads and intended for it to be publicly available for everyone. (I'm also building a small trading post near there.)

Devs, please fix ASAP. This area is a very important junction, connecting various road systems. Temporarily declaiming is no option for me due to the 8 hour wait and the fact that inevitably some asshat will destroy everything there if unclaimed (including my still drying palisade for the trading post).

White group != everyone.

It is.

  • The claim permissions for private claims have been reworked for congruency with village and realm claims, in that the White permissions group now applies to All players, rather than only to those who are marked as white in your buddy list. All previously set White permissions on private claims have been cleared as a transitory measure. Also added a textual note in the interfaces informing that the White group is used to set permissions to all.

Jeez... And I've red the walrus update patch notes a few times... :?

Well, I'll now pretend that I meant that it doesn't work! :)

I just tested this with a non-kinned alt, and everything seems to work fine. I'm not sure what problems OP is experiencing.

Maybe you have him on a group that dosn't have permission?
Because setting him on a goup removes him from white...

I've given all groups trespassing permission, though. I tested with both a kinned (yellow) alt and a non-kinned alt.

My problem was that I couldn't use any of the roads and couldn't keep my boat as it was "theft".

So you put down the boat onto the claim, picked it up again and then tried to travel?
Not a bug then, as dropping something onto a claim makes it property of someone else and stops you from leaving with it...
