I meant attacks and other moves probably too, that's why I wrote "abilities". It's really common to get no direct damage during a fight but end up with some wounds.
and why at least?
Because I am almost sure about punch sores, but not so sure that the rest of the wounds are possible to get without getting damage.

Has anyone written an up to date guide on this yet? Everything I've found is at least a year out of date. D:

There is very little merit for doing a guide on a combat system that most people dislike.

There's plenty of merit to write a guide about a combat system that we're currently stuck with and do not know if/when a radical overhaul will happen. Most balance fixes don't terribly impact basics like hunting anyway since they're all aimed at endgame pvp.

Casuals/hermits tend to like this style of combat btw from my own experiences and those I've talked to. Relatively intuitive and easy to learn the basics.

Edit: https://www.havenandhearth.com/forum/vi ... 42&t=54070 Pretty sure zebra's guide is still fairly relevant.
