Make things spoil!
Meat, baked goods, crops. They should all get bad, rot/spoil over time if not used.
Of course you can prevent spoilage by storing them in cellar or something.
Perhaps there could be many stages. Right after baking/roasting food would be like steaming/sizzling. It gives some extra feps.
Then it would turn to the usual stuff that we have now. After some days it would get stale and give you less feps. And in week(s) it would spoil and be unedible. Or edible but you would only get the hurt-fep. Perhaps with a chance of dying in sepsis as well.

Devs seem to have very different opinion on whats fun and whats not then. On other stuff as well.

I wouldn't mind some selective decay to increase value of particular products or end-states, but as a general mechanic I'm very skeptical.

Re: Spoiling alert!
Food stored in cellar has longer lifespan, left out food turns stale and takes quality/fep hit, would go well with the sizzling hot food. Or just make food not turn stale at all in cellar.jorb wrote:I wouldn't mind some selective decay to increase value of particular products or end-states, but as a general mechanic I'm very skeptical.
