Hullo all. I'm just posting cuz I'm completely lost. I've read some on the forums and the FAQ and I'm still lost. I mean, all I'm doing IG right now is wandering around. I've made something out of some bark i pulled off some trees but that's about all, minus lots of walking around.
What am I missing?

Make stone axes (1 stone, 1 branch) for lp until you can learn some basic survival skills like hunting, lumberjacking, carpentry, etc. You should equip one stone axe and drop the rest, as you won't have any problem making a new one if you're ever lacking one. Once you've got a couple of these basic skills, pick a location with good access to resources (proximity to a river and pine forest is a good start, and you'll also want a stone supply) and start building. You can build a log cabin, some wicker baskets to keep your stuff in, and once you get yeomanry you can claim your land. To build constructions you first need to plow the ground (make a wooden plow), and then lay down stone via the adventure > landscaping menu. You can then place your building on the paved area.jldavis798 wrote:Hullo all. I'm just posting cuz I'm completely lost. I've read some on the forums and the FAQ and I'm still lost. If you can't do any of these things, you need to get the relevant skills as you go along. In the meantime, if you're hungry look for apple, tree, and mulberry trees, hunt rabbits and chickens (but don't try to fight anything else) and get fishing once you have the skills to make the equipment (you'll need a spindly taproot, a bone hook, and some type of lure to make yourself a functional fishing rod).
I'd also recommend moving your personal belief sliders towards the LP boosts, which is peace (I think?) and change. Everytime you move the sliders you'll automatically be moved towards change, so concentrate on the peace one. At full peace and change, you get 360% of the normal LP from every action.
Hope that helps. For more information check out the How-To, user-made guides, and the wiki.

kralmir, thank you very much for your kind offer. Since I've last posted this I've found loads of helpful people IG and am no longer 'completely' lost. Though I still find myself with plenty of questions.kralmir wrote:if you want i could teach you a bit to get you into the game, im a hermit in a very remote location but i got plenty of food and supplies so you can learn without worrying about that

Hi ricky
I'm pretty much having the same experience as you. But today, I made my first friend! xD
I've seen, maybe, 5 individuals in the few days I've been playing, and I've travelled quite far (I'm mapping out my local area in Photoshop). But today was the first time anybody actually stopped and spoke to me.
...Granted, it was to ask whether the boat I was riding in was stolen from him... lol. But we were soon travelling together and chatting away. He's a Russian player but I don't know his name, because all I could see was "???".
I've come across several large villages so far, and like you, rarely see anybody inside them. One person, if I'm really lucky.
But I actually like it this way. The world is so huge! It really feels like a wilderness, where I'm alone, and the only competition I have is from the bears and boars that spring from ambush at innopportune moments.
Those rare sightings of actual humans becomes an exciting event. Whereas in most MMORPGs, I'm pushing through crowds, competing for mob spawns, getting PK'ed every five minutes outside of 'safe' zones... here, every person I see catches my immediate interest. What are they doing? Where are they going? Did they see me too? Could they kill me in 1 hit? Where'd they get those awesome clothes? Do they have a village nearby?
I don't know whether the sparse population is due to the world size, low server population, or both-- but I'm loving it this way.
For me, it's the perfect balance of near-solo survival gameplay while leaving the door open for occasional player-to-player opportunities and risks.
