Well if you're riding on a horse your collision box is being "blocked" by the horse's, so I guess it makes sense

Recently died to random trolls hate horses mechanic myself, this should be far more widely known information. I was able to very easily escape the second one I spawned while on foot.

And they say archery is dead. We just need to learn how to harness the power of cave ins.

Just make trolls bash cave walls so they just walk straight through walls towards any characters in the area.

Re: Trolls: The Most Degenerate Game Design
I think trolls should be able to bash palisades, but not bwalls. This will give bwalls some added value, and make trolls even more menacing. I also would unironically like trolls to chase players up ladders and through cave entrances.
I say this as someone who managed to find a troll in the first hour of mining L1 under my village. Those changes would've fucked me pretty good, but I have to admit, I love the idea of a troll breaking free from the underground, laying waste to some of a village, then tromping off to wander the forests and devour unlucky travelers, especially those on horse.

Well since I saw first time that someone was (nearly) instakilled by a troll because of a horse, I never bring a horse when I mine.
I got one troll already, had no horse, had no problem. ;3
But the flexing animation is nice.
