Re: Would Jorbtar move to America?
When you're mixing people (multiculti) it's like mixing chemicals, you're liable to get an explosion. The question is whether the risk is worth it?

USA is a third world country because it has legal bribery of politicians. That's not how a real democracy works.

Here we see arrogance and dumbness of Americans yet again.Lord_of_War wrote:Nah I just don't care about your personal dislike of nato. America #1
Humanity does not exist. We are all animals. Its the survival of the fittest. Or well, humanity may exists as some term that you or someone else just came up in their head. But in no way it would be something that everyone should work towards. Its a virtue as any other. People and animals have always fought against their own species and other species. This probably never stops. After all, why in the earth would it? There's always someone that annoys you, or someone with things that you want for yourself. Of course we can think of ideal world where no one ever hurts each other, but those are only dreams. They probably never become true. Also I would like to say that minorities and sometimes even majorities have to be ignored. With that logic, we never could make anything cool, because someone might get hurt. I honestly don't care about people in Africa that much, and I'm pretty damn sure that no one else cares either. Sure its a fun thing to make us feel good to give few pennies there, but it does not help on large scale at all. What if you had to give up things that you keep for granted, in order to people in Africa not to suffer? Would you give up commodities like electricity and motored vehicles? Most likely not. We are all pursuing our own interests, and charitable things are just one of various ways for some people to get satisfaction.LadyV wrote:You know I usually avoid these topics but Ill make a comment on this. There are many problems in the world, even in nations that claim to be the best. None of us are perfect and solutions that work elsewhere may not work here. That however is alright. The unique mix that makes a nation is what defines it.
To some I see replying your people are just now dealing with a multi-cultural presence in your countries. Your in part doing very badly at it as well. It is much easier to have a mono-culture. things flow smoother with commonality. It is when you get multiple ethnicities, beliefs, and cultures you begin to see problems. The more diversity the more issues as there is no one culture to merge into.
The US from it's founding has been a sort of melting pot so it has far more experience in such. That is one you can not deny. Do they do it perfectly? No.
The primary issues facing the whole world right now are greed, fame, and power. Three very old motivations from our past. Leaders...people have succumb to the desire to be absolute in their thoughts and beliefs. They ignore minorities and sometimes majorities just to shape the world they way they want it, the way it benefits themselves.
You want to solve the worlds problems the listen and understand. Stop projecting your views as absolute and realize there is another Human looking back at your with a different story and background. No one is better or worse, that is an illusion. We are one people whether you like that thought or not. And each part of our whole is made of individuals. Everyone matters. Every voice matters. When you realize that the solutions will come.
Till then I fully expect much finger pointing and name calling, maybe even fighting. Some people must beat their heads against walls to learn whats most important, Humanity. Claim it or don't but if you do not realize the opposite is called inhumanity.
All right I said my piece. You all carry on.
Sad truth is that most people have ideas how to correct many issues. But they sadly don't work at all in real world/large scale for various reasons. If it would be that easy to fix problems, we would not have them.MagicManICT wrote: I could go on about how we could correct our issues with just minor shifts in the budget without raising any more taxes, but a large majority of the conservatives in the country are either greedy bastards or brainwashed into thinking they're a part of the elite. (Small historical hint: it's at these times when the greatest emipres fell on their collective asses.) Arguments otherwise are lost on them. Can't convince people who believe the universe is only 6000 years old of anything.
Multiculturalism works in some occasions. Such as when after war many Finns moved to Sweden in order to get jobs. They did not cause riots or anything else, even though they were not Swedish. How is this possible? Well, they had the same religion, they were from civilized country with similar history, being under Sweden not too long ago. They also were well educated, and reason for their moving was to find jobs. In other words, all of them employed and most of them even had useful skills. Compare this to current situation. Completely different culture, they look different, they smell different, they act different. They are not here to do work or study. They fleed because they are too cowards to defend their home country. If they deserve something, it is public execution for treachery.Jalpha wrote: The second is that I don't think you can use multiculturalism as any kind of excuse for societal issues.
This metaphor is bad in all ways. You can mix most chemicals together without anything really happening, and even if something would happen, most likely it is not an explosion. Mixing different cultures together creates problems. The more cultures differ, the more problems you get. Eventually it will level out, but nothing will be the same then.Lord_of_War wrote:When you're mixing people (multiculti) it's like mixing chemicals, you're liable to get an explosion. What does this "real democracy" mean anyway?Potjeh wrote: That's not how a real democracy works.

Should be quite self evident. The foundation of democracy is that everyone has an equal say in who forms the governing body, based on the policies they put forward, no matter how stupid, poor, or otherwise useless the person is.shubla wrote:What does this "real democracy" mean anyway?Potjeh wrote: That's not how a real democracy works.
Lobbying means that those with power/influence/wealth can bribe or blackmail* the current governing bodies, and twist them to further their goals and this happens on a massive scale in the US (and other countries) today.
(*) Eg. "I'll have to move my factory somewhere else if you don't give these concessions x, y, z, think of all the poor breadcrumb earners without a job".

But what do you exactly mean by all this? How is it done?Glorthan wrote:Should be quite self evident. Public election where every single one from the country gets to vote over every-single-thing?
That is going to be expensive, slow, people will get bored of it.
Theres much more decisions to be made than simple laws. Budgets and such.
Believe me, that would result in chaos, especially in America where people are dumb. Your country would be destroyed within a year if people got "true democracy" to decide on every action of government by referendum.
Do you understand that "true democracy" would not work. People would get bored by these votes, ignorant people would vote stupid things. Voting group of people who full-time do these decisions does not instantly ruin everything. But then again, that does not match your definition of democracy.

Nobody is arguing for direct democracy. Just against corporate funding of election campaigns.
