Killed Despite Visitor DeBuff

So me and my friends were just killed due to a bug we believe.

So we are being raided because the guys have just built a catapult. So we open the doors to try to get away. We have not left our claim yet. They come in through the gate and immediately kill two of us. I run through the gate and they end up killing me.

Why did the visitor debuff not affect their crimes? How were they able to attack us? Is it something I am misunderstanding or is it a bug?

Uh, you can agro someone from off claim and through a gate (though right now there exists a bug that lets you just agro someone over a wall). Visitor doesn't prevent them from fighting, just prevents them from agroing if they are inside the wall. Best bet would have been to evict them as soon as they had entered the claim.

But the information is all on the forum, right guys? Who cares about combat tutorials and other information being easily available to new players they should just be reading every single announcement and update that there ever was!

Clearly I'm not being serious btw, it's unfortunate that you weren't aware of how the mechanics worked before this happened. Yeah if you had right clicked the person while they had visitor you would have been given the option to evict them and if they had you aggrod or were red handed then they would have been knocked out or simply sent back to their hearthfire otherwise.

As a sideshow Isn't the agro over walls a game breaking bug if it can be used to bypass the purpose of the visitor debuff as a way to bypass siege. I think combat situations should end when one gets a visitor debuff to ensure such situations do not happen.

And here I am, waiting for visitor debuff to be removed so that the people will stop thinking that they are safe within open doors.
