Back in the day yes, villages and whatever would have skype calls. But alliances? Not one that was used like discord is these days. My kingdom has a 60 person discord, hedgehugs has 90 online (doesn't show offline even). Those numbers would be mind bogglingly big for skype back in the day.
discord or skype is a completely different thing than forums and its not about whats better to use to communicate with each other considering noone used forums for that ever anyway hehe
its just that i guess GH dont care to post cool threads because theyve already won both the forums and in game, Dis is useless so they dont have anything to post about and the only cool threads maker (ziggy) isnt playing
