I was thinking .... bring back the old combat mechanics where you can actually kill anyone ... but, if you die, you can claim your ancestor body with the inherited char at the hearthfire, if you have one, so that you can always have the chance to bury him ... idk about the skull ... probably if you don't claim the body before it turns into skeleton you cannot claim it anymore.
What you think? Seems reasonable to me ...

Re: About KO/Hearth back
I say this KO/hearth mechanic is ok for most part, but there should be exception.

Area fighters go into knowing that there is the real hardcore zone is more fair because they choose to go and know death is lurking.
What I don't find cool is for example:
One group has 5 fighters and other group has 5.
The next day the 5 wait on 1 and kill it together. This instance I think because this person didn't choose for anything should just be allowed to HF and deal with wounds/lost gear.
This way everyone who doesn't take part in actual wars will never die pretty much. (Unless noob reasons).
Also I find that my idea gives more motivation to fight between realms.
If you want to hurt the other group, you kill one of the characters (old days).
Now, everyone is basically safe everywhere but to force your opponents to a fight you keep challenging their border cairns.
If they do not choose to fight, they lose ground.
If they do they have a chance at fair battle knowing that they can die for real there.
This way I believe combat will be a more intense experience and keep annoying your opponents realm to force a fight that matters also would be interesting I think.
Bottom line is war/death should be for the warriors who choose to face this and all the sprucecaps can port back to hearthfire no problem in my opinion, to each their own but currently the meaning of the warrior side of the game got raped, and I think this should help with bringing that back.
On topic: when actually dead, bodies should be on the floor. It's part of the game inherently I believe, having to retrieve bodies during/after fight, bring them home safe and then selling them back to your opponents for tokens![Trollface ¦]](./images/smilies/troll.gif)

Yeah I see, but with my idea even if you die you can always have your body back ... so in short time, with some effort ( that's right cause you lost the battle), you can recover ... and on the other hand you won't see your enemy vanishing in the air cause the port back thing .... it sounds more reasonable to me ... otherwise, let's say, a super strong char could always escape, even if attacked by multiple people ( with lower stats than him ) ... instead, with my idea, he can bury his body, ok, but if you keep killing him you will be able to weaken him ... cause the death penalty ...Headchef wrote: ....

As an option: one (main) character of the account is immortal (as it is realized now), and alts are mortal (as it was before).
Excuse me, I don't speak English.

You DO realize State Funerals are literally just burials for when you don't have the body? So it'd basically just make it so state funerals are useless.sMartins wrote:I was thinking .... bring back the old combat mechanics where you can actually kill anyone ... but, if you die, you can claim your ancestor body with the inherited char at the hearthfire, if you have one, so that you can always have the chance to bury him ... idk about the skull ... probably if you don't claim the body before it turns into skeleton you cannot claim it anymore.

Also, no. The reason the ko system was implemented was so dying is a result of numerous defeats, rather than just an instant game-over. This doesn't solve that.

Yeah, but you don't have the full benefit without the body ... or am I wrong?DDDsDD999 wrote: You DO realize State Funerals are literally just burials for when you don't have the body? So it'd basically just make it so state funerals are useless.
So you like the thing that your enemy can just vanish porting back? also ... numerous defeats just if he doesn't heal? I don't think people fight with wounded chars?DDDsDD999 wrote: Also, no. Idk, i don't like the porting back thing ... I'd rather see something in between and I tought that being able to recover your body could be reasonable, but not sure ...

It's not a perfect system, but your suggestion doesn't solve the problems it was meant to fix.sMartins wrote:So you like the thing that your enemy can just vanish porting back? also ... numerous defeats just if he doesn't heal? Oh ok ... so it's not that good as I initially tought ... btw I think granting more recover from inheritance instead of simply don't die cause the porting back would be better, for both new players and advanced players. Cause right now, new players die the same, and advanced one cannot kill their enemy unless dealing a lot of damage with multiple people, that seems not really balanced to me.

Also wrong. In PvP you can take something like 60% HHP damage before you get KO'd (unless two people land a really lucky double cleave at the same time which is probably a bug.)sMartins wrote:Cause right now, new players die the same, and advanced one cannot kill their enemy unless dealing a lot of damage with multiple people, that seems not really balanced to me.
