but at that point wouldn't people just mass multiples and multiples of characters with capped stats as fodder for fights?Potjeh wrote:I'd prefer real death too, but it just doesn't work with infinite character development. Caps plox :3

Re: Whats your opinion on World 10?
Every idea is shit because of how the game works.
At the current moment with the current system the only way to stop mass alting and combat alts in general would be to force people into having a equal amount of every stat and skillpoint, and as thus making combat alts or alts in general incredibly costy, slow and a terrible idea.
Some certain groups would still do this but at that point crafting alts would at least be pushed out because why bother with a second character to bake bread when your main character bakes bread better and does everything better already.
but at that point why even have stats???

I'm personally for removal of stats but that's obviously not going to happen, therefore the best solution is removal of permadeath, just like it is now pretty much
also combat needs to be reworked and then the game is just fine

I want to go back to having to cut down entire forests for LP instead of curios, but that's not really gonna happen either.NOOBY93 wrote:I'm personally for removal of stats but that's obviously not going to happen, therefore the best solution is removal of permadeath, just like it is now pretty much

As far as alts go, I don't really understand why someone would even bother, at this point it's stupidly hard to die and it's really easy to get a character capable of doing everything. I guess it's one of those "with him to which way" types of scenarios where someone feels they have to have them and someone else feels they don't.

People were already massing combat alts even before caps experiments.Gensokyo wrote:but at that point wouldn't people just mass multiples and multiples of characters with capped stats as fodder for fights?Potjeh wrote:I'd prefer real death too, but it just doesn't work with infinite character development. If you ever really wanted alts to stop or be impeded, the system would have to be changed from the afk wait game that curios are, into a "level as you do" type of situation. Instead of shoving afk experience from staring at a stick wrapped in rotting meat and shoving it into unarmed, you would actually have to utilize combat to raise unarmed.
Why would anyone want to make an alt to do anything when you can make a character jack of all trades.

While I see the point in that (and there are several topics where I argued for that, Getting better stats when you use them being one of them) it could lead down the path of endless-grind if not done right.Wonderful wrote:If you ever really wanted alts to stop or be impeded, the system would have to be changed from the afk wait game that curios are, into a "level as you do" type of situation. They are smart to listen to them and not to you.linkfanpc wrote:Don't listen to all the people whining they died and do something like this, if you go back to the original, losing-nearly-everything-upon-death system, the whole system this game was built around, then the only people who will stick with the game are absolute loyal-to-death players like me.
As you said: you're already loyal to the death - so they can and should do things for the people that are not, yet.
