Is there any way to get a gate for my wooden fence?
I want to make a makeshift chicken coop in which i can keep my chickens in. I know I cant get eggs like this but I just want a place to keep them in until i get a real chicken coop. Can someone tell me how to get a gate for my wooden fence? I mean the one that needs 10 sticks to build.
The furries have granted me strength, intelligence, courage, and perception. The furry power is limitless.

You need to have two cornerposts exactly two tiles away from each other, then you can right click one of them and you get a 'Make gate to (direction)' option. This is how it works for all 'wall' type objects.
However, because the devs absolutely abhor uniformity amongst mechanics, chickens are not persistent objects and this won't work unless you physically remain near the temporary 'coop'. You would probably save more trouble by building a cupboard (if you have a house, anyway) and temporarily stuffing the chickens inside it while you put up the coop. They'll die eventually, but it takes a couple of real-life days if memory serves.

Worse yet, chickens being scrawny and nimble creatures, I think you will find they slip through the poles of a round pole fence very easily, finding it no kind of a barrier at all. So even if you do set them up in a hen yard be prepared to see them fluttering across the road and through your vegetable garden.
