Ok, guys... this is for Bugs, not for piling on.
@synaris: if something looks weird, investigate further. Just because it seems off doesn't make it a bug. Human memory is strange and poorly understood, and nobody is perfect, despite what some TV shows would have you believe. Steps to reproduce will move suspicion to confirmation of a bug. Without those steps, it doesn't matter if it's obviously a bug, it's hard to fix.
As for the original report here, as jorb states, it's a resource that didn't load fast enough to show up before it was boated over. I've never ran across a vortex, so not sure how they appear... whether they're visible on the minimap or not. My experience is that when things aren't loading quickly (due to updates, slow internet, too many windows open on my toaster), objects will often show up on the minimap, but not show up on the main rendering viewport. Might be a helpful pointer in the future.
Also to note is that a vortex does somewhere between 50-100% damage to rowboats (unsure about knarrs, coracles), though I understand it's somewhat rare to outright destroy a full health rowboat. Make sure your boats stay in good repair. This will decrease the likelihood of them getting smashed in travel.

Today iv done 3 jumps at vortex on knarr, after this i had 21/100% knarr, 4 tarstick and its like new. Not sure but some alts which were on knarr was teleported to dock.
