But then again... do we have historical records to compare this to to see how much of a problem it really is? The poorer people (read less educated) have always had higher birth rates... but they have also had higher mortality rates, too. Even today affluence is a big indicator to possible life span.

There appears to be a multitude of possible causes that were considered and likely more that haven’t been thought about. It might not even be a possible cause at all but I believe one of the contributing factors to this decline is the decline of what one would consider to be the traditional family. It’s a point of controversial debate but generally the best conditions for raising healthy, responsible and ultimately successful children in to adults has the greatest success in the traditional family model that includes the influence and value teachings of both a mother and father.

There are certainly several studies too that indicate children have the best chance of being successful when raised in that type of environment, lets say perhaps in comparison to the single mother household that lacks the necessary father figure. Not to say that a single mother can’t raise wonderful people but this is just what the data indicates generally.

Anyways point being that over time less children are recieving the proper care and education that would normally nurture a responsible and successful adult.

Besides this though there is also the fact that more and more women are entering the workplace and so may not be having children until the late 30’s early 40’s as raising a family also interferes with the process of receiving an education and moving up the ladder of success in whatever career they happen to choose.

I like to hear all sides in a discussion but you could at least try to back-up any of what you said with facts and evidence instead of a mildly relative video about the social system of ants. Ants are ants, humans aren’t ants. I know much of what I believe is hard to hear for some people but I assure you it’s all based on reasonable evidence.

Biological evolution has no relations at all with human organization, that is purely cultural ... and Darwin knew very well about that, that's why he always and only talked about biological systems.
Clearly, to provide the "survival of the fittest" in our society are not biological resources, as required in Darwin Theory, but economic resources, such as wealth and power that wealth ensure.

Darwinism is a theory of biological evolution developed by the English naturalist Charles Darwin (1809–1882) and others, stating that all species of organisms arise and develop through the natural selection of small, inherited variations that increase the individual's ability to compete, survive, and reproduce.

If you think one's ability to do any of those three things has no effect on their position in life you are sorely mistaken. Simply because you are wealthy does not mean you didn't work to earn that wealth. And to think none of these things are related is truly narrow minded, culture, biology and evolution all play an integral role in society and within each other.

The simple act of two groups borrowing the positive aspects of each other's cultures and integrating them in to their own is one example of evolution that happens on an almost daily basis. Or devolution depending on what is being borrowed from less than savoury cultures...
