For some time now I have been considering creating my own content. The first site I went to was YouTube of course, being the most well known and popular video hosting website that I know of. Unfortunately someone seems to have made an absurd attempt to troll me by claiming my preferred (and very obscure) username. Oh well. Wikipedia quickly displayed a long list of alternatives. I chose BitChute, which utilises P2P technology. Some kind of torrent based video hosting operating within the framework of a browser page.
This suits me just fine. I'm not interested in monetisation, advertising or maintaining the status quo. I was considering straight out torrenting video content.
I am interested in the opinion of others regarding this kind of technology. Is it safe, user friendly etc? My primary concern was that relying on P2P, anyone with a poor internet connection may struggle to view content.
Is there anything out there which is better than YouTube?

Re: YouTube alternatives
A stolen username is the last reason to change platforms. Though youtube is pretty shit. I heard vimeo is ok.

Re: YouTube alternatives
Youtube has all the audience, and thats all that matters.
You could try some chinese or japanese sites though, they have a lot of audience, though you would probably have to make your videos in japanese or chinese, also the chinese one has censorship.

Re: YouTube alternatives
There is twitch as well, which does provide for video hosting not just streaming.
Also a high probability that I made the account myself and just can't remember any of the login information.

Yea, tbh I was meant to make the thread using Jalpha not 8rambl3s. Went mad creating accounts trying to keep the tag when I've probably just forgotten a password.
