Namely, how do I initiate combat? I've had animals attack me, usually resulting in a loud crack noise and me lying on the ground, but how do I start a fight with ants and such? If I need a skill for this, please mention the skill too.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Question about combat
It does indeed have a lot of information but I still need to know how to actually start a fight. For instance, attacking ants so I can kill them before raiding the hive.

Re: Question about combat
I see, and to get attack options, I assume I need "The will to power" and "Unarmed combat" at least? Obviously more advanced attacks come from more advanced skills, but that's the basics, at least?

The guide here will help you from top to bottom or at least help you understand the system.

If you keep focusing on the shadow behind, you will not see the light in front of you.

Re: Question about combat
About getting instantly knocked out, you should note that getting attacked from behind seems to cause instant depletion of your defense bar, so that all the damage affects your hp's. If it's a strong enemy and you have low hp's or no armor, that results in your 1-shot knockout.
When initiating, I suggest activating a Move and clicking on the enemy only once. Multiple clicks + lag can easily result in your guy trying to walk past the enemy, only to get painfully backstabbed.
