You can, of course, invite a million people to a small shop at once, but does it make sense?
It is unlikely that it will be fun to play when the server is full and people interfere with each other. Disappointed people, rather, will leave forever.

This is a single server MMORPG. Or in the MMORPG should not be space for a comfortable game? The more people per square meter, the more fun?

So your argument is that the developers should not inform their playerbase that they are making a reset, due to the possibility of people joining becoming disappointed because the server can't handle the load? Isn't the solution to optimize the servers then?

Or maybe we are not on the same page, i believe that Haven & Hearth should expand both in content and in playerbase, this is a great game and i want the developers to make a nice profit or atleast have the potential to make a profit and at the same time allowing players to enjoy the game.

H&H have made alot of progress during W10, alot of new content and fun additions that i am sure alot of people would like to try out if they were aware of the reset.
When do you think it is time to expand the playerbase, or perhaps this is something you don't want too see?

EDIT: Also note that EvE online is also a single server MMORPG. They did not have the same player count when they launched, they did however not halt the expansion of the playerbase, instead the optimised their servers.

It's like having a party. Sometimes more people come than you expected and are able to accommodate. And some of them you would not like to see.

I'll leave you with this quote then, as we apparently don't see eye to eye

"For marketers, success is finding more and more of the people who will give their money. Marketers only mission is to find these people, connect with them through their marketing tactics and messaging, and spur them to action. The action is a sale. Which takes us full circle — marketing is all about sales; about helping more and more people to buy our products and services.

One final caveat about marketing — we can’t live without it. Marketing is essential, and it is most essential when the cost of it can be least afforded. If times are tight and cash flow is lean, it’s marketing that will spur the revenue line. Clearly focused marketing unearths profitable sales. Profitable sales improve cash flow.

A business leader who astutely manages the assets of the company recognizes that marketing starts the process of selling, and as the old adage goes, nothing happens until someone sells something.

The astute business leader invests in marketing. An astute marketer produces a return on that investment, measured in increased profitable sales."

I think you are missing one small detail here. HnH is a passion project in alpha state and not entirely about maximizing profit.

Immediately I remembered China: the number of people is growing, production is increasing, but the territory has remained the same.

Expand the database or overflow the server, making the game uncomfortable?

Now imagine a situation that there are other bases right next to your base. You go hunting, but 50 people are already hunting there. You go for resources, but they are all closed by other people's claims. And so on. Your cozy world collapsed and it makes no sense to spend money, is not it? And not the fact that other players will buy hats and tokens.

Well it's a good thing that the devs can expand the world, huh?

Without restarting the world? Or "Come to a new world! ... oh, how many of you, come to a new world again!"
