sieges are unreasonably difficult to pull off right now, not sure the old system is the way to go though

It would enable something for the time being rather than nothing like now.
Think this should be temporary because changes to siege would still be good but current state is equal to removing it.

The same can be said about Raiders who want to be able to destroy weeks/months of progress simply by timing their raids during low periods or when a village is sleeping/working which is common among normal humans with a life.Embers wrote:If you're not willing to defend your shit then you don't deserve to have it in the first place.

idk a simple fix to where you cant destroy siege engines until like last 6 hours? from the 24 hour dry time would be reasonable. youd only need to be active during the 6 to defend it.
see homo sexuality trending,. do not do that.

Attackers choosing a 6 hour window sounds great. No problems at all with thatwonder-ass wrote:idk a simple fix to where you cant destroy siege engines until like last 6 hours? from the 24 hour dry time would be reasonable. youd only need to be active during the 6 to defend it.

It's still retarded and defenders still in advantage because OBJECT HEALTH is inherently broken.
It is huge motivation for making insane layers of wall which is what claim shield defeated.
Only when you leave your enemy unattended for a long time and let him make a secondary layer of shield (takes forever if huge base) then claim shield becomes "problem".
Now you literally make a Pali and pclaim, make 50 layers of wall if anyone ever thought about wasting their time for 24 hours, now on top of that you have completely unrealistic amount of shots required even after this 24h.
Claim shield has its flaws but it beats current system by far, unless if you are against PvP entirely and should only be fight outside walls.

to place it on your off hours they would have to place it during online hours which you could take measures for. maybe make it so you can destroy it first few hours of placement.boshaw wrote:Attackers choosing a 6 hour window sounds great. Seemingly okay idea on it's own but does not adress issue of walls having big soak on their own so even if you get to shooting stage, having MANY layers still desirable and that in turn makes any siege not worth it anymore. On top of the initial huge effort currently the shooting is also too long and also very resource consuming.wonder-ass wrote:to place it on your off hours they would have to place it during online hours which you could take measures for. maybe make it so you can destroy it first few hours of placement.boshaw wrote:Attackers choosing a 6 hour window sounds great. But the main problem obviously being the individual health of the wall layers and the corresponding time to shoot all of them down while already being there for at least 24h.

idk a few changes could make multiple layered walls useless. could make it so rams can move unlimited with out breaking down (but it can only move on claims so you cant build it far out and roll it in.) making it so you dont have to wait for multiple dry times each wall.Headchef wrote:Seemingly okay idea on it's own but does not adress issue of walls having big soak on their own so even if you get to shooting stage, having MANY layers still desirable and that in turn makes any siege not worth it anymore. tho id rather have sieging too hard than too easy like a lot of other people have said.

Not that I completely disagree with that, just want to point out that raiding a base doesn't mean completely ruining everything. All the best tools, seeds and valuables are usually safe together with not red-handed characters. You might lose your kiln, animals and stuff but it's not irreplaceable.budzilla wrote:Again, if you aren't willing to sit and camp out a place for a day to ruin months of someones works, rust might be more what you're after.
