A few questions about crossroads and villages.

A few questions I have, hoping I can get answers.

1)When setting up a crossroads, I'm setting one up one-way, since this is safe it seems fine.
2)I've gotten mixed answers on whether you can place banners 'away' from town, I tried it and could not, I assume what people are doing is chaingin banners and knocking out the ones in-between or something.
3)What happens when a village reaches 0 Authority?
4)If the village stays there, can we still use Crossroads?

Here's the thing, I found a mine recently, but it's a decent bit away. I plan to use my slave to create a second village, link the two with crossroads (most likely one way village->Mine), palisade it in, and then have everyone leave the village (May leave my slave in it, unsure , depends on the authority thing).

From what I understand Authority=HP, when I had to declaim a village previously I used up all the authority and it was down in a few hits, so it would behoove me to heep as much Authority in it as possible (Could be done with a single character once I cap it seems)

I also wondered this for making my own waystations between here and Constantinople without having to actually rely or make agreements with other villages along the way or make a single long trip.

2)you can place banners only on authority ground, so you have to build same banner trail.
3) at 50k auth the village idol starts to decay and any passerby can become ls. you also can knock it down, since it becomes destryable. at 0 auth it goes poof.
4) yes, you can also travel TO CR, that have lost auth, but not FROM it

I see, so in this case I'd have to have my alternate character stay in and collect enough LP to keep up the cost, not a terrible temporary price to pay until I have enough AGI.

Yes, I do. Not that it's super important. No, I don't macro on him or anything if you wanted to ask that. I just find that there are many mediocre tasks most people don't want to do that I can use 2 characters for to get stuff done, for example fish on one, hunt on other, or plow on one, pave on other.

Just works out nicely. I probably shouldn't have named him my slave. :/

One more question to add:
Is the crossroads accessible when the village is 'gone'? (After someone destroys it)
