You're being overly sensitive or incredibly dense if you think people are just trying to bash noobs. It's a genuine issue that's been caused by updates since hafen was released.DoctorCookie wrote:I should have said "seems like." Sevenless has helped me greatly personally with his guides and other posts. However, I dont think I took the thread here, there are a couple of posts about what hermits could offer, the rest of the thread are thinly veiled brags or sneers towards new or legit players. It doesnt seem welcoming or helpful to me.

If you really want to help out a hermit, accept whatever that hermit are able to offer. It is as simple as that I think. Or if you would rather not be bothered with low q anything, give something away for free. If neither of those options are something you care to do, that is fine. But then you really don`t want to help out, and the question is moot anyway. Moderate charity does not corrupt.
I had a benefactor once that bought large chests of food from me. It was too low q for his village, but he gave the food to hermits in his neighborhood, as the food was high q to them. I got bluebells etc in return, which I could use to buy tools. He did not need anything from me, but traded anyway - just to be nice. It does not need to be more complicated that that.
