Just trading in general gets you out in the world and meeting loads of people who can help you in ways you couldn't have thought of before. I'm not saying all of them or even any of them will jump to your aid if you're attacked but it doesn't hurt. People who lose a valued trading partner are more likely to get involved, or even help you re-build by giving seeds and tools, than people who don't even know you.

All what we needs - Its a "Federal Marshals". Enthusiasts with good words (steel plates, steel swords, stealth++ etc), who can get this yells at forum, get coordinates of village, collect scents, seek and massacre this ass bustards. I think villages with good food producing can work out such personage at very short time, and villages with steel producing can give good sword and plates for him, silk fabrics give rangers clothes for him.

Mainly becasue the thought of seeing an actual "world" of villages, trade, social interation, vending stands and market places, embassies and ALL that jazz you can think of when pondering the potential of an indepth sandbox...because it's quite thrilling and unique in the gaming world. But even I after a certain time have both understood, expected and even respected it when good gamers have moved on because after enough times even I would think them kind of daft and sadomasacistic (Stupid and self punishing) to act like an ant (with equal intelligence) and keep rebuilding on broken infested land. You, having claimed to only been here 2 weeks, couldn't possibly grasp that. Hell no matter who or what you are I doubt you are loyal enough to stay for very long anyway, once you get bored or find something else.
